Door De Wind
Belgium was represented by Ingeborg, with the song "Door de wind", at the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Lausanne, Switzerland on 6 May. Ingeborg was the winner of the Belgian national final for the contest, held in Brussels on 18 March. Before Eurovision Eurosong 1989 Flemish broadcaster BRT was in charge of the selection of the Belgian entry for the 1989 Contest. The national final was held at the Amerikaans Theater in Brussels, hosted by Luc Appermont. Twelve songs competed to become that year's Belgian entrant, voted on by regional juries in the five Flemish provinces of Belgium, alongside a professional jury. Ingeborg emerged the winner by a 13-point margin, having received the highest overall score both from the regional juries and the professional jury. Ingeborg (singer)
Ingeborg (born Ingeborg Thérèse Marguerite Sergeant, 15 October 1966, Menen) is a Belgian singer and television presenter, best known outside Belgium for her participation in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Ingeborg studied at the Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp, a training school for young singers and stage performers. One of her fellow students was the Dutch singer Stef Bos, with whom she formed a professional and personal relationship. With other colleagues, they formed a group called Zwiep en Brons and won the jury prize in the 1988 ''Leids Cabaret Festival'' in the Dutch city of Leiden. Eurovision Song Contest In 1989, Ingeborg's song "Door de wind" ("Through the Wind") was chosen as the Belgian representative in the 34th Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 6 May in Lausanne, Switzerland. Clouseau (band)
Clouseau is a Belgian pop music, pop group, having success in Belgium and the Netherlands since being established in the late 1980s. Apart from a brush with English material in the early 1990s they perform in Dutch language, Dutch. Their biggest hits are "Daar gaat ze" ("There she goes", a #1 hit in the Netherlands in 1990, and rerecorded in English as "Close Encounters") and "Passie" ("Passion", a #1 hit in the Netherlands in 1995). History 1987–1990 Clouseau was set up by Bob Savenberg, who named the band after Inspector Clouseau, a character he enjoyed imitating and after whom he had named his radio station. Luc Jozef Amelie Appermont (born 4 October 1949) is a Flemish television presenter. He started his career on Radio 2 as a radio announcer, he hosted the talent show ''Observatory''. Steven "Stef" Bos (born 12 July 1961 in Veenendaal) is a Dutch singer who has been living in Cape Town, South Africa.
