Donwell Hector
Donwell Banister Hector (born 31 October 1988) is a Vincentian cricketer who has played for the Windward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman. Hector made his senior debut for the Windwards in October 2007, playing a limited-overs game against Guyana during the 2007–08 KFC Cup. Saint Vincent (Antilles)
Saint Vincent is a volcanic island in the Caribbean. It is the largest island of the country Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is located in the Caribbean Sea, between Saint Lucia and Grenada. It is composed of partially submerged volcanic mountains. Its largest volcano and the country's highest peak, La Soufrière, is active, with the latest episode of volcanic activity having begun in December 2020 and intensifying in April 2021. Stanford 20/20
The Stanford 20/20 was a short-lived cricket tournament in the Caribbean island of Antigua. It was held first in July and August 2006 in the West Indies at the Stanford Cricket Ground, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and then again in the same place in 2008. It was a variety of the popular Twenty20 format, which had been first introduced in English cricket in 2003. The tournament was separate to the Stanford Super Series, which was held in late 2008. The tournament was privately devised and funded by wealthy American businessman Allen Stanford, who held Antiguan dual nationality. It has been alleged that Stanford's creation of the tournament was a method of laundering his income from the fraudulent business schemes for which he is now serving a lengthy penal sentence in the U.S.A. 19 teams took part in the inaugural knock-out tournament and 20 teams took part in the second tournament (although 21 teams were originally scheduled to take part). Leeward Islands Cricket Team
The Leeward Islands cricket team is a first class cricket team representing the member countries of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, an associate of the West Indies Cricket Board. Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten are members of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association. The team does not participate in any international competitions (though Antigua and Barbuda took part at the 1998 Commonwealth Games), but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50) The team competes in regional cricket under the franchise name Leeward Islands Hurricanes. Andre Fletcher (born 28 November 1987) is a Grenadian cricketer who plays internationally for the West Indies. He is a right-handed batsman and often keeps wicket. He played domestic cricket for Windward Islands and Grenada. He was one of the few international cricketers to have come from Grenada. Domestic and T20 franchise career He made his first-class debut for Windward Islands against Trinidad and Tobago on 30 January 2004 in the Carib Beer Cup. Fletcher played for the West Indian U19 cricket team in the 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup which was in Sri Lanka. Darren Sammy
Daren Julius Garvey Sammy (born 20 December 1983) is a Saint Lucian cricketer who played international cricket for the West Indies. He is a two time T20 World Cup winning captain. On making his One-Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in 2004, Sammy became the first person from the island of St Lucia to play international cricket. Three years later he made his Test debut against England, taking 7/66 which were the best bowling figures for a West Indian in his first Test since Alf Valentine in 1950. Sammy was appointed West Indies captain in October 2010. He scored his maiden Test century in May 2012 during a match against England. Sammy is the only captain to have won World T20 twice. Rawl Nicholas Lewis (born September 5, 1974) is a West Indian cricketer. Lewis featured as a leg spinner for both the Windward Islands and the Windies in his cricketing career. As of 2016 Lewis holds the role as manager of the West Indies cricket team. Playing career As a native of Grenada, Lewis primarily featured as a leg spinner. He went on to captain the Windward Islands in their victorious 2000-01 Red Stripe Bowl campaign. He also played for Barrow Cricket Club in England, before being recalled to the West Indies squad for the 2005-06 tour of New Zealand. Lewis was again recalled to the West Indies team in 2008 for the 2nd Test match against South Africa. 2008–09 Regional Four Day Competition
The 2008–09 Regional Four Day Competition was the 43rd domestic first-class cricket tournament held in the West Indies, it took place from 9 January 2009 – 14 April 2009. Each team played the other twice, one played at home and the other away. Jamaica won the tournament after finishing top of the table with seven wins from their twelve matches. It was their 2nd tournament win in succession and their 9th overall. Narsingh Deonarine of Guyana finished as the tournament's highest run-scorer, he made 1,068 runs at an average of 59.33, including two centuries and a highest score of 198. Sint Maarten National Cricket Team
The Sint Maarten cricket team has represented the Dutch Overseas Territory of Sint Maarten in cricket. The team is not a member of the International Cricket Council, but is a member of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, which itself is a member association of the West Indies Cricket Board, and players from Sint Maarten generally represent the Leeward Islands cricket team at domestic level and the West Indies at international level. Sint Maarten has however played as a separate entity in matches which held Twenty20 status, but has not appeared in first-class or List A cricket.
