Donegal Senior Ladies Football Championship
The Donegal Senior Ladies' Football Championship is an annual LGFA competition organised by Donegal LGFA among the top ladies' football clubs in County Donegal. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Ulster Ladies' Senior Club Football Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Senior Club Ladies' Football Championship. The winners are presented with the Donna Dunnion Boyle Memorial Cup, which was inaugurated in 2022. St Eunan's GAA
St Eunans GAA ( ; or ''Naomh Adhamhnáin'') is a dual club which plays hurling and Gaelic football. Their home ground is O'Donnell Park in Letterkenny. They field 35 teams, making them the biggest club in their county. One of the strongholds of Gaelic football in County Donegal, they have won the joint most Donegal Senior Football Championship along with Gaoth Dobhair who have also won 15. The Ladies' Gaelic Football Association ( ga, Cumann Peil Gael na mBan) is the main governing body for ladies' Gaelic football. It organises competitions such as the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship and the Ladies' National Football League. Foundation The Ladies' Gaelic Football Association was founded on 18 July 1974 at a meeting held at the Hayes' Hotel in Thurles, County Tipperary, almost ninety years after the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in the same hotel. Brendan Boyle (Gaelic Footballer)
Brendan Boyle is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played at midfield for Ard an Rátha and also for the Donegal county team. A married civil engineer and graduate of Institute of Technology, Sligo, he spent two years with a serious back injury and almost quit the game. His wife Donna (''née'' Dunnion) played for Four Masters (she was a sister of Barry Dunnion) but died following an illness at the age of 41 in February 2022, leaving him two children. His championship debut was in the 2002 Ulster Senior Football Championship final, a competition he would never win as a player. He made a substitute appearance for Stephen McDermott in the 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-final against Armagh. Barry Dunnion is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Four Masters and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team. He plays at wing-back. Early life Dunnion is the son of Danny and Marian Dunnion and came from a family of three, including his brother Donal and sister Donna. Four Masters is a GAA club located in the town of Donegal in County Donegal, Ireland. They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in Donegal. History Based in the parishes of Townawilly and Killymard, Donegal Town, Four Masters is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Donegal having won 3 Donegal Senior Football Championships. The GAA club under Warwickshire County Board in Coventry, England, is named after the Four Masters club in Donegal. Aodh Ruadh CLG are a GAA club based in the town of Ballyshannon in County Donegal. Historically one of their county's most successful GAA clubs, they have won 12 Donegal Senior Football Championships, they currently compete in Division 1 of the league and the Senior Championship. CLG Chloich Cheann Fhaola is a Gaelic football and handball club for the parish of Cloughaneely, County Donegal, Ireland. The club is based in Falcarragh.
