Four Masters GAA
Four Masters is a GAA club located in the town of Donegal in County Donegal, Ireland. They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in Donegal. History Based in the parishes of Townawilly and Killymard, Donegal Town, Four Masters is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Donegal having won 3 Donegal Senior Football Championships. The GAA club under Warwickshire County Board in Coventry, England, is named after the Four Masters club in Donegal. That club was unable to register as a Donegal Club but reserved the Four Masters name. Austin O'Kennedy, a top GAA doctor who oversaw all Donegal county teams for 22 years, has also been involved with Four Masters for even longer. Tom Conaghan who managed the Four Masters to two county championships in 1982 and 1984 went on to manage the county team during the late 80s. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Paul Durcan (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul Durcan (born 22 April 1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and coach who plays as goalkeeper for Drumcliffe–Rosses Point and the Donegal county team. A member of the Donegal county team (senior) since 2004, he has also played soccer for Finn Harps in the League of Ireland. Durcan has won two All Stars, one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, three Ulster Senior Football Championships (2011, 2012 and 2014) and one National Football League with his county. Until transferring to Ballyboden St Enda's in 2015, Durcan played his club football with Four Masters, with whom he won a Donegal Senior Football Championship in 2003. With Ballyboden St Enda's Durcan won a Dublin Senior Football Championship and Leinster Senior Club Football Championship (both 2015) and then an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 2016. Paddy Reid
Patrick Joseph Reid (17 March 1923 – 8 January 2016) was an Irish dual-code rugby centre. Reid played club rugby under the rugby union code for Garryowen, and played international rugby for Ireland, and was part of the Grand Slam winning team of 1948. The following season, he switched codes, joining professional rugby league club Huddersfield, before ending his league career with Halifax ( Heritage № 601). Rugby union Reid came to note as a rugby player when he represented Garryowen in the 1940s; playing his first game against University College, Galway. In 1947 he won his first international cap, when he was selected to face Australia on their 1947–48 tour. Barry Monaghan
Barry Monaghan is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Four Masters and also, formerly, the Donegal county team. Club Monaghan won the Donegal Senior Football Championship with his club in 2003. He scored two points in the final against Termon. Inter-county Monaghan won the All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship in 1995. Monaghan made his Donegal debut in October 2000 in what was Mickey Moran's first game in charge, a league victory at home to Offaly, in which he scored a point. He made his championship debut in 2001. He played in the 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-final against Armagh. He played in the 2006 Ulster Senior Football Championship Final at Croke Park. Michael Kelly (Gaelic Footballer)
Michael Kelly (born 1960s) is a former Gaelic footballer who played as goalkeeper for Four Masters and the Donegal county team. Kelly played for Donegal in the 1987 Ulster Senior Football Championship but had trouble establishing himself in other seasons due to the presence of Gary Walsh, who would play as goalkeeper for the county's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship-winning team five years later. Thus, 1987's championship was Kelly's only involvement as a player in that competition. Luke Keaney
Luke Keaney (born 1992) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for Four Masters and was involved with the Donegal county team for ten years. He is from Donegal Town. Keaney played in the 2013 Dr McKenna Cup. He made his league debut against Dublin in Ballybofey in the final game of the 2013 National Football League. He studied at and played for UCD. He also played in the under-21 team that lost to Cavan in the 2013 Ulster final. He was part of the team that won the 2014 Ulster Senior Football Championship and then reached the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, but was an unused substitute in that game. He was still playing for Four Masters in 2016, a year in which he helped his club to a 2–17 to 0–4 win with a goal and a point which he scored from a distance of 50 metres. Barry Dunnion
Barry Dunnion is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Four Masters and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team. He plays at wing-back. Early life Dunnion is the son of Danny and Marian Dunnion and came from a family of three, including his brother Donal and sister Donna. His sister Donna Boyle (wife of Brendan Boyle) also played for Four Masters but died following an illness at the age of 41 in February 2022. Dunnion is a brother-in-law of Karl Lacey. Shane Carr
Shane Carr is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a defender for Four Masters and the Donegal county team. His inter-county debut came in a game against Antrim in 1998. He was part of the panel during 1998 and 1999. He came back in 2001. From 2001 he was part of the team until retiring in the spring of 2006. According to the '' Sunday Independent'', Carr left the panel when Eamon McGee moved ahead of him on the substitutes bench despite McGee's poor discipline and lack of dedication. Seamus Bonner
Seamus Bonner (6 November 1948 – 11 October 2012) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played for various clubs, as well as for the Donegal county team. Bonner played 129 games for his county between 1972 and 1985, initially in midfield and later at full forward. He made his championship debut against Down at Ballybofey in 1972 and played his last Championship game against Monaghan in 1985. In 1974 he scored seven goals in four games, including one against Galway in that year's All-Ireland semi-final. With Michael McLoone (1966), Bonner (1974) jointly holds the record for Donegal player with the highest score in the same match. In 1983, he became the first Donegal player to win three Ulster Senior Football Championships.
