Donaukanal
The Donaukanal ("Danube Canal") is a former arm of the river Danube, now regulated as a water channel (since 1598), within the city of Vienna, Austria. It is long and, unlike the Danube itself, it borders Vienna's city centre, Innere Stadt, where the Wien River (''Wienfluss'') flows into it."Donaukanal", aeiou Encyclopedia (see below: External links). The Donaukanal bifurcates from the main river at the Nußdorf weir and lock complex, in Döbling, and joins it again just upstream of the "Praterspitz", at the Prater park in Simmering. Bunny Lake
Bunny Lake was an Austrian electropop band from Vienna, formed in 2004. The band's name was inspired by Austrian director Otto Preminger's film ''Bunny Lake Is Missing'' (1965). History Bunny Lake was founded in 2004 by singer Christian Fuchs and musician Dr. Nachtstrom. Fuchs had previously been active as singer and lyricist of cult industrial rock band Fetish 69 and was also responsible for the trip hop project Toxic Lounge. Both bands released several albums on various labels including Nuclear Blast and Klein Records. Dr. Nachtstrom had previously been working as an experimental electronic musician and produced several albums for Austrian avant-garde label Mego. Dawnstar are an indie-rock band from Budapest, Hungary. The band's original line-up includes the songwriter Attila Wind (vocals/guitars), Bálint Hamvas (bass), and Viktor Albert (drums). The sound of the band is generally a mix of flanging and light distorted guitars, throbbing bass, and enchanting keyboard melodies. Dawnstar represents a mixture of mid-1960s psychedelic, late 1970s goth, mid-1980s grunge and 1990s indie rock of the Budapest indie music scene. Attwenger
Attwenger (formed 1990) is a musical duo from Linz, Austria. The group is made up of drummer Markus Binder and button accordion player Hans-Peter Falkner; both members also sing. Attwenger's music is an unusual combination of Upper Austrian folk music and hip-hop, with lyrics sung (and rapped) in Upper Austrian dialect. Falkner often plays his accordion through effects pedals to give his instrument a distorted timbre similar to that of an electric guitar. Binder sometimes uses drum machines. The duo has toured Europe, Zimbabwe (1993), Siberia, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Malaysia (1995). In 2003 they won an Amadeus Austrian Music Award, in the category "FM4 Alternative Act des Jahres" (alternative act of the year). Of the group, the noted BBC DJ John Peel (1939-2004) said, "I have no idea what it's all about, but I like the general noise a great deal."
