Donald McAlpine (politician)
Donald McAlpine (December 5, 1869 – May 12, 1925) was an Ontario farmer, veterinarian and political figure. He represented Brockville in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1919 to 1923. He was born in Vankleek Hill, Ontario, the son of John McAlpine and Annie Grant, and was educated at McGill University, receiving a DVS. Albert Edward Donovan
Albert Edward Donovan (February 5, 1859 – December 6, 1925) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Brockville in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Conservative member from 1907 to 1919. He was born in Portland Township, Leeds County, Ontario, the son of John Donovan. He was educated in Athens and taught school for several years. Donovan then entered the life insurance business, becoming an agent for the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada in Great Britain and, after his return to Canada, represented the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York in Halifax and then Toronto. Hezekiah Allan Clark (September 7, 1875 – March 19, 1939) was a dentist and political figure in Ontario. Vankleek Hill, Ontario
Vankleek Hill is a town in Champlain Township in Eastern Ontario. It has a population of 1,996. The town was named after Simeon Vankleek, a United Empire Loyalist who settled there near the end of the 18th century. The agricultural-based community became a thriving community in the 1890s and still retains many of the buildings and structures of the time.
