Donald Andrew John Cameron MSP (born 26 November 1976) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician, who has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Highlands and Islands region since 2016. He currently serves as the Scottish Conservative's Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, External Affairs and Culture since May 2021. Background Donald Cameron was educated at Harrow School and graduated with a first-class honours degree in modern history from Oriel College, Oxford and a Diploma in Law from City University London. Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP; gd, Ball Pàrlamaid na h-Alba, BPA; sco, Memmer o the Scots Pairliament, MSP) is the title given to any one of the 129 individuals elected to serve in the Scottish Parliament. Ross, Skye and Lochaber is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (Westminster). It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The constituency covers a central portion of the Highland council area, and at , it covers the largest area of any House of Commons constituency in Britain. Until the 2015 general election, it was represented by former Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy. Donald Cameron, 25th Lochiel
Colonel Sir Donald Walter Cameron of Lochiel, (4 November 1876 – 11 October 1951) was a Scottish nobleman and soldier of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders who served in the Second Boer War and the First World War. He was the 25th Lochiel of Clan Cameron, succeeding his father, the 24th Lochiel in 1906. Lochiel began his career as an officer during the Second Boer War in Southern Africa and was later based in India. In 1914 he was asked by Field Marshal Herbert Kitchener to raise the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders and served as Colonel of the regiment from 1914 to 1916. The casualties his battalions sustained during the war was said to have deeply affected him. After the war he retired to his estates in Lochaber with interests in sheep farming and land management. Peter Francis Walter Kerr, 12th Marquess of Lothian, (8 September 1922 – 11 October 2004) was a British peer, politician and landowner. Colonel Sir Donald Hamish Cameron of Lochiel, (12 September 1910 – 26 May 2004) was a Scottish soldier, landowner, businessman and the 26th Lochiel of Clan Cameron. Partygate was a political scandal in the United Kingdom about parties and other gatherings of government and Conservative Party staff held during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, when public health restrictions prohibited most gatherings.
