Donald Angus Cameron of Lochiel, DL, JP (born 2 August 1946) is the 27th and present Lochiel of Clan Cameron. He served as honorary Lord Lieutenant of Inverness from 2002 to 2021. Early life Cameron was born in Kensington, London, the eldest son of four children born to Sir Donald Cameron, 26th Lochiel and Lady Margot (née Gathorne-Hardy), only daughter of Hon. Nigel Gathorne-Hardy and Doris Featherston Johnston, of Wellington, New Zealand. Cameron was educated at Harrow School and he went on to read history at Christ Church, Oxford (MA, FCA). Career and chiefship In 1966 he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders (TA). He left the army in 1968 and trained as a chartered accountant. Mortonhall
Mortonhall is an area of Edinburgh, Scotland, on the south edge of the city. The area is along the western end of the Frogston Road between Fairmilehead and Gilmerton; it is just to the south of Liberton and the Braid Hills. The area was the estate of Mortonhall House, a fine country mansion house of 1769, with an exceptional interior. It is thought to be designed by the Edinburgh architect, John Baxter, with interior work added by Thomas Bonnar. The main house has been converted into offices and flats. The stable range (now a bar) dates from around 1780 and is also particularly fine, including an intact cobbled courtyard. The immediate grounds of the Hall contain a caravan site and a garden centre. Achnacarry
Achnacarry ( gd, Achadh na Cairidh) is a hamlet, private estate (land), estate, and a castle in the Lochaber region of the Scottish Highlands, Highlands, Scotland. It occupies a strategic position on an isthmus between Loch Lochy to the east, and Loch Arkaig to the west. Achnacarry has a long association with Clan Cameron: Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel built the original castle in 1655.
