Don Gregorio is a town in Nizao County, located in the southeastern corner of Dominican Republic, at . It is the second most populated town in the Nizao County of the Peravia Province, in the estuary of the Nizao River. Don Gregorio was elevated to municipal section on January 1, 1945, when Nizao was elevated from Municipal District to the category of County by the Dominican Congress. Don Gregorio is an agricultural town rich in cultivable lands and a huge producer of baseball players. Nizao
Nizao is a city in the province of Peravia in the Dominican Republic. General information Nizao is a city in the Dominican Republic and capital of the Nizao Municipality. It is the second large municipality of the Peravia Province and is located in southeastern corner of this province, in the angle formed by the estuary of the Nizao River and the Caribbean Sea coast. It is well known for being the city of the luxury cars in the country and they are all owned by "carajitos firmao" as the local people call young professional athletes. The Municipality Nizao was founded in the 16th century when Diego, Christopher Columbus' firstborn son, built a sugar mill and plantation along Nizao River. Peravia () is a province in the southern region of the Dominican Republic. Before January 1, 2002 it was included in what is the new San José de Ocoa province, and published statistics and maps generally relate it to the old, larger, Peravia.
