Don Davis (North Carolina Politician)
Donald Gene Davis (born August 29, 1971) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for North Carolina's 1st congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he represented the 5th district in the North Carolina Senate from 2013 to 2023. Davis was first elected to the post in 2008, representing Pitt, Wayne, and Greene counties. He was defeated for reelection in 2010, but ran and won a Senate seat for the newly redrawn 5th district in the 2012 election. Early life and education Davis was born in the town of Snow Hill. Pitt County is a county located in the inner banks (northeastern part) of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 170,243, making it the fourteenth-most populous county in North Carolina. Its county seat is Greenville. Louis Pate
Louis Milford Pate Jr. (born September 22, 1936) is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the North Carolina General Assembly. He represented the state's eleventh House district from 1995 through 1996 and from 2003 through 2008. His district included constituents in Wayne county. Pate later was elected as the State Senator representing the 7th district (including constituents in Lenoir, Pitt, and Wayne counties). He resigned from the Senate on January 14, 2019, citing his health. Pate is a former mayor, city council member and retired merchant from Mount Olive, North Carolina. Pate was a delegate at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. The same year, he ran for the North Carolina Senate but was defeated in the general election by Donald G. Davis. John Kerr III
John Hosea Kerr III (February 28, 1936 – May 24, 2015) was a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing constituents in Greene, Lenoir and Wayne counties. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Kerr grew up in Warrenton, North Carolina. He received his bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from University of North Carolina School of Law. An attorney from Goldsboro, North Carolina, Kerr served eight terms in the state Senate. Previously, he served three terms in the state House. In 2007, Kerr announced that he would not seek re-election in 2008. He was succeeded in office by Donald G. Davis. Kerr died in 2015. Kerr's grandfather, John H.
