Dominik Nepp
Dominik Nepp (born 14 February 1982) is an Austrian politician who has been leader of the Freedom Party (FPÖ) in Vienna since 2019. He has been non-executive deputy Mayor and city councillor in the government of Vienna since 2017. Personal life Nepp graduated from the Amadeus International School Vienna - Private boarding and day school in Vienna in 2000. From 2013 to 2017, he completed a four-semester Master's course in Leadership, Politics and Management at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna and graduated with the Master of Arts in Political Management, not to be confused with the academic degree of the same name, Master of Arts (MA). He is married to Barbara Nepp, who was appointed to the ORF Public Council in 2018, and has two daughters. 2020 Viennese State Election
The 2020 Viennese state election was held on 11 October 2020 to elect the members of the Gemeinderat and Landtag of Vienna. The outgoing government was a coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) and The Greens. The SPÖ remained comfortably in first place with small gains. Conversely, the previously second-placed Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) suffered a catastrophic defeat, losing 80% of its votes compared to 2015 and becoming the smallest party in the legislature. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) moved into second place after more than doubling its vote share. The Greens recorded their best result to date, just under 15%. Ibiza Affair
The Ibiza affair (german: Ibiza-Affäre), also known as Ibiza-gate, was a political scandal in Austria involving Heinz-Christian Strache, the former vice chancellor of Austria and leader of the Freedom Party (FPÖ), and Johann Gudenus, a deputy leader of the Freedom Party. The scandal was triggered on 17 May 2019 by the publication of a secretly recorded video, which was commissioned by Iranian-born lawyer Ramin Mirfakhrai ( fa, رامین میرفخرایی), of a meeting in Ibiza, Spain in July 2017, which shows then opposition politicians Strache and Gudenus discussing their party's underhanded practices and intentions.
