Dominic Samuel (Canadian Soccer)
Dominic Edmund Samuel (born September 29, 1994) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Forge FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life He began playing youth soccer with East York SC. Afterwards, he joined Sigma FC. College career In 2012, he began attending Southern New Hampshire University, where he played for the men's soccer team. He scored his first collegiate goal on September 26, 2012, against the Saint Michael's Purple Knights. After his freshman season, he was named to the Northeast-10 Second Team and All-Rookie Team, as well as being a Daktronics Second Team All-Region. After his sophomore season, he was a NSCAA Second Team All-America selection, NSCAA First Team All-Region and Daktronics Second Team All-Region, Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference, and was named to the Northeast-10 and NCAA All-Championship teams. Forge FC is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Hamilton, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Premier League, the top tier of Canadian soccer. The club plays its home matches at Tim Hortons Field. Forge FC joined the CPL in 2019 as one of the league's seven inaugural teams. The club won the first two championships of the Canadian Premier League, winning back-to-back league titles in 2019 and 2020 before winning a third title in 2022. 2021 Forge FC Season
The 2021 Forge FC season was the third season in the history of Forge FC. Forge were the defending league champions, having defeated HFX Wanderers FC in the 2020 Canadian Premier League Final. In addition to the domestic league, the club competed in the Canadian Championship and the CONCACAF League. On November 2, Forge FC defeated Santos de Guápiles in the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF League to qualify for the 2022 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League, becoming the first Canadian Premier League club to do so. The club eventually bowed out of the competition in the semi-finals against Motagua. 2020 Forge FC Season
The 2020 Forge FC season was the second season in the history of Forge FC. Forge were the defending league champions, having defeated Cavalry FC in the 2019 Canadian Premier League Finals. Before the start of the season, Forge announced that 18 players from the previous season would be returning in 2020. In addition to the domestic league, the club competed in the CONCACAF League, advancing to the quarter-finals for the first time. On September 19, Forge defeated HFX Wanderers FC 2–0 in the 2020 Canadian Premier League Final to win their second consecutive league title. The 2019 Forge FC season was the first season in the club's history, as well as first season in Canadian Premier League history. On April 27, 2019, Forge FC hosted York9 FC in the inaugural CPL match at Tim Hortons Field. During the season, Forge also participated in the Canadian Championship, CONCACAF League, and the Canadian Premier League Finals. The 2018 Men's League1 Ontario season was the fifth season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. Vaughan Azzurri won the league championship and earned entry into the 2019 Canadian Championship; the top national tournament for men's soccer teams. The 2017 Men's League1 Ontario season was the fourth season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 semi-professional soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. For the first time, the league expanded to include teams in the nation's capital, Ottawa, allowing it to span from the western to eastern borders of southern Ontario. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer (Division I) in the hierarchy. 2015 League1 Ontario Season
The 2015 Men's League1 Ontario season was the second season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 semi-professional soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. This season saw the return of all nine teams which completed the previous season, as well as the addition of three new teams for the Men's Division. The 2015 season also marked the birth of League1 Ontario's Women's Division, which began play with seven teams. The 2014 USL Premier Development League season was the 20th season of the PDL. The regular season began on May 3 and ended July 20. The regular season was followed by a postseason tournament of conference winners to determine the league's champion. Canada Men's National Under-17 Soccer Team
The Canada U-17 men's national soccer team (also known as Canada Under-17s or Canada U-17s ) represents Canada in international soccer at this age level. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada.
