2019 Forge FC Season
The 2019 Forge FC season was the first season in the club's history, as well as first season in Canadian Premier League history. On April 27, 2019, Forge FC hosted York9 FC in the inaugural CPL match at Tim Hortons Field. During the season, Forge also participated in the Canadian Championship, CONCACAF League, and the Canadian Premier League Finals. On November 2, 2019, Forge FC defeated Cavalry FC 2–0 on aggregate in the CPL Finals and became the first ever champions of the Canadian Premier League. Forge FC
Forge FC is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Hamilton, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Premier League, the top tier of Canadian soccer. The club plays its home matches at Tim Hortons Field. Forge FC joined the CPL in 2019 as one of the league's seven inaugural teams. The club won the first two championships of the Canadian Premier League, winning back-to-back league titles in 2019 and 2020 before winning a third title in 2022. Forge was the first CPL side to compete in a continental competition when it qualified for the 2019 CONCACAF League, and the first to compete in the highest tier of continental competition in the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League. Quillan Roberts
Quillan Roberts (born 13 September 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Electric City FC in League1 Ontario. Born in Canada, he currently represents the Guyana national team after having previously represented Canada at youth and senior level After spells in the youth ranks of Toronto FC and Portugal FC, Roberts signed a first-team contract with Toronto FC in 2012. After loan spells with the Wilmington Hammerheads and Toronto FC II, he was released after the 2016 season. Bertrand Owundi Eko'o (born 15 October 1993) is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. Klaidi Cela (born July 16, 1999) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for Vaughan Azzurri in League1 Ontario. Club career Early career Cela began his career at the age of eight when playing for Mississauga Falcons SC. In October 2012, he joined the Toronto FC Academy. Oluwaseun Oyegunle (born 3 November 2002) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defender. Early life Oyegunle began playing organized soccer at age seven with Brampton East SC. When he was 15, he joined Sigma FC. College career In January 2021, he began attending Syracuse University, where he played for the men's soccer team. Kwame Awuah (born December 2, 1995) is a Canadian professional soccer player. Club career Early career Awuah played for the Club Uruguary Toronto, Woodbridge Strikers, the Ontario provincial program and the Dante Alighieri varsity boys soccer team, for which he was elected MVP.
