''Dokument 2'' is a Norwegian investigative documentary series that has aired on TV 2 since its inception in 1992. The series was originally hosted by Gerhard Helskog, later by Tonje Steinsland. The documentaries have won several Gullruten awards. Due to major cuts in TV 2, the station's own editorial production of documentaries in the series was dropped in 2009. A documentary film or documentary is a non-fictional film, motion-picture intended to "document reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education or maintaining a Recorded history, historical record". TV 2 (Norway)
TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel. In 1992, TV 2 A/S was admitted as full active member of the European Broadcasting Union. Rikets Tilstand
''Rikets tilstand'' ("State of the Realm") is a Norwegian investigative documentary series that aired on TV 2 from 1999 to 2002. The host was Gerhard Helskog, former host of '' Dokument 2''. The series premiered on 30 September 1999. ''Rikets tilstand'' won a SKUP diploma and the Gullruten award for best documentary for the two-part episode '' Norske jenter omskjæres'' (2000), about Norwegian Muslim girls being subjected to female genital mutilation with the secret approval of imams. The series became subject to a scandal in 2002 after an episode made unsubstantiated allegations of doping in the Norwegian national skiing team. The series was also tarnished for sparking a moral panic following an episode in 2001 alleging the now-discredited link between the MMR vaccine and autism. ''Dagbladet'' (lit.: ''The Daily Magazine'') is one of Norway's largest newspapers and is published in the tabloid format. It has 1,400,000 daily readers on mobile, web and paper. Gerhard Helskog (born 6 May 1963) is a Norwegian journalist. He has worked for TV 2 since 1992, where he has been the host of shows such as ''Dokument 2'', ''Rikets tilstand ''Rikets tilstand'' ("State of the Realm") is a Norwegian investigative documentary series that aired on TV 2 from 1999 to 2002. Tonje Steinsland (born 1969) is a Norwegian journalist. She has worked as a television journalist since 1991, notably as an investigative reporter and host of documentary series ''Brennpunkt'', ''Rikets tilstand'' and ''Dokument 2''. She has later been the host of the TV 2 talk shows ''Tonje Steinsland møter...'' and ''Vårt lille land''. Steinsland first worked as the host of the youth show ''U'' on NRK, and thereafter made investigative documentaries as a reporter and host for ''Brennpunkt'' on NRK, and ''Rikets tilstand'' and ''Dokument 2'' on TV 2. Gullruten ("Golden Screen") is an annual award for the Norwegian TV industry, founded in 1998 by ''Norske Film- og TV-produsenters forening''. The awarding committee has representatives from the major national TV companies, NRK, TV 2, TV3 and TVNorge. In 1998, the show was hosted by Nadia Hasnaoui, and from 1999 to 2012, by Dorthe Skappel.
