Doha Industrial Area
The Doha Industrial Area ( ar, الدوحة المنطقة الصناعية, Ad-Dawḥah al-Minṭaqat aṣ-Ṣinā'yah) is a district of Doha Municipality, Qatar. It was previously a part of the Al Rayyan Municipality, which now geographically separates it from rest of Doha Municipality. The majority of the area's workers reside in adjacent Labour City. A municipal office for Doha Municipality is found in the district. Asian Town Asian Town is a major commercial complex in the Industrial Area. Formerly known as West End Park, it contains many amenities for the district, such as West End Park International Cricket Stadium, an amphitheater, a large shopping mall and three cinema halls. It was built to cater towards the large Asian expatriate population from South Asia and Southeast Asia in Qatar, particularly the Indian, Bangladeshi Pakistani, Nepali and Filipino communities. Qatar
Qatar (, ; ar, قطر, Qaṭar ; local vernacular pronunciation: ), officially the State of Qatar,) is a country in Western Asia. It occupies the Qatar Peninsula on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East; it shares its sole land border with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Persian Gulf. Overseas Pakistanis ( ur, ), or the Pakistani diaspora, refers to Pakistani people who live outside of Pakistan. These include citizens that have migrated to another country as well as people born abroad of Pakistani descent. According to the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, approximately 8.8 million Pakistanis live abroad according to December 2017 estimates, with the vast majority, over 4.7 million, residing in the Middle East. Doha Metro
The Doha Metro is a rapid transit system in Doha, Qatar's capital city, which became operational on 8 May 2019. It has three lines with an approximate overall length of 76 km and 37 stations. It is an integral component of the larger Qatar Rail network, which will include a long-distance rail for passengers and freight, linking Qatar to the GCC, and the Lusail LRT. Capable of reaching 100 km/h, the Doha Metro is one of the fastest driverless trains in the world. Ain Khaled ( ar, عين خالد, ‘Ayn Khālid) is a district in the municipality of Al Rayyan in Qatar. Found on the outskirts of the capital city Doha, the area is historically known for its well which served the people of Doha and neighboring villages. Etymology The first word in the district's name, "Ain", is an Arabic word reserved for natural underground water sources. Formerly, the district was known as "Ain Al Seneem", with "Al Seneem" being the name of a local well. Villaggio Mall
Villaggio Mall is a shopping mall located in the Aspire Zone in the west end of Doha, the capital city of Qatar. It is located on Al Waab street between the Hyatt Plaza and Sports City and has over 200 stores, including many famous brands in the U.S., U.K., Italian and German markets. Inside, the interiors are Italianate-themed both as an Italian hill town, but also with a 150-meter long indoor canal with gondolas. The Mall was partially re-opened on September 20, 2012, after meeting strict safety standards following the May fire that resulted in 19 lost lives. Al Sadd (Qatar)
Al Sadd ( ar, اَلسَّدّ, As Sadd) is a neighborhood of Doha, the capital city of the state of Qatar. As one of the country's oldest surviving mixed-use districts, the neighborhood is home to hundreds of families and residences, and several malls are also found in this vast neighborhood such as the Centrepoint Mall, Lulu Centre and Royal Plaza. Ad-Dawhah ( ar, الدوحة, ' or ''ad-Dōḥa'', ) is the one of the eight municipalities of Qatar. It is the most populous municipality with a population of 956,457, and is the municipality of Qatar's capital city, Doha.
