Docville Wild West Park
The International Documentary Film Festival Docville is an annual documentary film festival set in Leuven, Belgium. Docville was founded in 2005 as a thematical series within the arthouse movie theatre Cinema ZED. In the next edition the festival added competitive sections and became independent of the movie theatre. Docville takes place each year in different locations within the city of Leuven. It is the only annual, competitive documentary-only film festival in Belgium. In June 2018 the festival announced it is one of 28 film festivals in the world whose jury award-winning film will be placed on the longlist of the documentary feature category for the ''Academy Awards'' The 16th edition was postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis (original dates: March 25 to April 2, 2020) to September 25 - October 3, 2020. Erwin Wagenhofer
Erwin Wagenhofer (born 27 May 1961, in Amstetten) is an Austrian author and film director. In 1981 he presented his first short film ''Endstation normal''. Two years later his short film ''Das Loch'' was shown at the Kraków Film Festival. From that year until 1987 he worked as a directing and camera assistant for several ORF productions as well as for movies and documentaries. Since 1987 he is a freelance author and film director. In 1988 he portrayed the artist Oswald Oberhuber in ''Das Fragmentarische in der Kunst''. From 1995 to 2000 he taught at Donauuniversität in Krems. ''Watermark'' is a 2012 Canadian documentary film by Jennifer Baichwal and Edward Burtynsky. It concerns the history and use of water. Burtynsky was previously the subject of Baichwal's 2006 documentary, ''Manufactured Landscapes''. The film features water use practices around the world, including multiple scenes in China and the United States, as well as segments shot in eight other countries.
