It opened in 1888 as Mooraree and the name of both the station and the locality were changed to Murarrie in 1907. Queensland Rail City Network
The Queensland Rail Citytrain network, provides urban, suburban and interurban electric passenger railway services in South East Queensland, Australia. History The first railway in Queensland did not run to Brisbane, but ran from Ipswich to Grandchester and opened in July 1865. The line into Brisbane was not completed until the opening of the Albert Bridge in July 1875. A start on electrification of the suburban network was approved in 1950 but a change of state government in 1957 saw the scheme abandoned in 1959. It was not until the 1970s that electrification was again brought up, with contracts let in 1975. The first part of the new electric system from Darra to Ferny Grove opened on 17 November 1979. Cleveland Railway Line, Brisbane
The Cleveland railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History Following the opening of the Wooloongabba Branch railway line from Corinda to Stanley Street in South Brisbane in 1884, calls were made for extending the line to Cleveland to serve the developing farming area. A line was surveyed, and took an indirect route to avoid hilly country and to serve Fort Lytton, a gun emplacement at the south entrance to the Brisbane River, then the major defence installation for the city. The line was opened to Manly in 1888 and extended to the first Cleveland station in 1889. ''Allocasuarina torulosa'', the rose she-oak or forest oak, is a tree which grows in sub-rainforest (just outside the main forest area) of Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. There, it is typically found on coastal footslopes, hills, and plains. Originally described as ''Casuarina torulosa'' by William Aiton, it was moved to its current genus in 1982 by Australian botanist Lawrie Johnson. It is the type species of the genus ''Allocasuarina''. ''A. torulosa'' is an evergreen tree that typically reaches 12-18 metres (40-60 feet) tall and 4.5-7.5 metres (15-25 feet) wide. It appears to have needle-like leaves, but these are actually twigs; the real leaves are actually in the joint of the needles and appear in whorls of four.
