The men's 1 metre springboard was part of the Diving at the 2014 Commonwealth Games program. The competition was held on 30 July 2014 at Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. Strathclyde Country Park
Strathclyde Country Park is a country park located on the outskirts of Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, named after the former Strathclyde region of Scotland. It is often commonly referred to as Strathclyde, or simply Strathy. Description The park covers some , centred on the artificial Strathclyde Loch. It is located next to the River Clyde between Hamilton and Motherwell. Strathclyde Park forms what used to be known as the Low Parks of the now demolished Hamilton Palace and still includes buildings associated with the palace. When the loch was created in the early 1970s it involved the flooding of the old mining village of Bothwellhaugh. Chris Mears (diver)
Christopher James Mears (born 7 February 1993) is a British diver and DJ/Producer from Burghfield Common, near Reading, Berkshire. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the synchronised 3m springboard event with Jack Laugher and won gold, the first Olympic gold medal for Britain in diving. Mears has won two further golds in Men's synchronized 3 metre springboard with Laugher at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 2018, one gold and one silver at the European Championships, and one bronze at the World Championships. Aside from diving, Mears also produces music and has released his own songs. Early life Mears was born on 7 February 1993 in Reading to Paul and Lorraine Mears. His biological mother died from breast cancer when he was three. His father then married Katy. Mears has an older sister, Natalie, and a younger brother, Charlie. François Imbeau-Dulac
François Imbeau-Dulac (born 9 December 1990) is a Canadian diver. He began diving at the age of 9, and began competing internationally in 2006. In 2011 Imbeau-Dulac broke the Canadian record (held at the time by Alexandre Despatie) in the 1m springboard event. He competed in the 3 m springboard event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He placed 13th, just short of making the final. He competed in the 3 m springboard and the 1 m springboard events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. With Jennifer Abel, he won the silver medal in the 3 m mixed synchronised diving at the 2015 World Aquatics Championship. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championship, he and Abel again won a medal in the mixed synchronised diving event, this time bronze. Freddie Woodward
Fredward Bevis Woodward (born 23 June 1995) is a British diving (sport), diver. He competed for England in the Diving at the 2014 Commonwealth Games – Men's 3 metre springboard, men's 3 metre springboard event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal with his diving partner, Nicholas Robinson-Baker. He took part in the Diving at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio 2016 Summer Olympics 3m springboard but narrowly missed qualifying for the semi-finals. Woodward is the current British 3m synchro (with James Heatly) and 1m individual champion, winning both events at the 2018 British Diving Championships. Woodward retired in 2018, stating that a career in competitive diving was not sustainable in his current position. He subsequently spent 6 months on a cruise-liner, acting as an on-board aquatics performer, before returning to the UK. James Philip Heatly (born 20 May 1997) is a British diver. Career In 2015, at the inaugural European Games held in Baku where the diving events are for juniors only, he won a gold in the 3 metre springboard, a bronze in the 1 metre springboard, as well as a silver in the men's synchronised 3 metre springboard with Ross Haslam. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games he won bronze in the 1m springboard event, becoming only the second Scottish diver to win a diving medal after his grandfather Sir Peter Heatly won gold in 1958. Ooi Tze Liang (, born 19 November 1993 in Penang) is a Malaysian diver. Ooi has represented Malaysia in various diving events such as 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, 2013 Southeast Asian Games and 2015 Southeast Asian Games. Yona Roshen Knight-Wisdom (born 12 May 1995) is a Jamaican diver, who competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, and came second in the 1 metre springboard event at the 2019 Pan American Games. He was the first Jamaican male diver at an Olympic Games. Personal life Knight-Wisdom was born in Leeds, UK, but competes for Jamaica. His father, Trevor Wisdom, is from Jamaica and his mother, Grace Knight, is from Barbados.
