Freddie Woodward
Fredward Bevis Woodward (born 23 June 1995) is a British diving (sport), diver. He competed for England in the Diving at the 2014 Commonwealth Games – Men's 3 metre springboard, men's 3 metre springboard event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal with his diving partner, Nicholas Robinson-Baker. He took part in the Diving at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio 2016 Summer Olympics 3m springboard but narrowly missed qualifying for the semi-finals. Woodward is the current British 3m synchro (with James Heatly) and 1m individual champion, winning both events at the 2018 British Diving Championships. Woodward retired in 2018, stating that a career in competitive diving was not sustainable in his current position. He subsequently spent 6 months on a cruise-liner, acting as an on-board aquatics performer, before returning to the UK. Nicholas Robinson-Baker
Nicholas Robinson-Baker (born 24 June 1987) is an English diver. Robinson-Baker became interested in diving when he attended a boxing camp near Crystal Palace and used the pool there. He participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he was placed 7th overall in the synchronised 3m springboard event with his diving partner Ben Swain. He has won gold, silver and bronze medals on the World Series tour, with a gold in 2009 in 3m synchro with Ben Swain at the World Series leg in Mexico. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he partnered with Chris Mears in the synchronised 3 metre springboard event and came fifth. They have also won a number of gold medals at National Cup and National Championships as well as a silver at the World Series in Mexico. James Heatly
James Philip Heatly (born 20 May 1997) is a British diver. Career In 2015, at the inaugural European Games held in Baku where the diving events are for juniors only, he won a gold in the 3 metre springboard, a bronze in the 1 metre springboard, as well as a silver in the men's synchronised 3 metre springboard with Ross Haslam. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games he won bronze in the 1m springboard event, becoming only the second Scottish diver to win a diving medal after his grandfather Sir Peter Heatly won gold in 1958. At the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow/Edinburgh, Heatly won a bronze in the men's 1 metre springboard. At the 2019 European Diving Championships held in Kyiv, Heatly won bronze in the Men's 3m springboard. Diving At The 2016 Summer Olympics
The diving competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 7 to 20 August at Maria Lenk Aquatic Center in Barra da Tijuca. It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo, and synchronised swimming. The 2016 Games featured competitions in eight events (men and women events each of): 3m springboard, synchronised 3m springboard, 10m platform, and synchronised 10m platform. The diving competitions featured up to 136 athletes. All divers had to be at least 14 years old on or by 31 December 2016. On Tuesday August 9, the water of the diving well turned dark green, originally thought to be caused by the heat and lack of wind in the venue.
