Diving At The 2013 World Aquatics Championships
The diving portion of the 2013 World Aquatics Championships was held from 20–28 July 2013 at the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc in Barcelona, Spain. Events The following events were contested by both men and women in Barcelona: * 1 m springboard * 3 m springboard * 10 m platform * 3 m springboard synchronized * 10 m platform synchronized Individual events consisted of preliminaries, semifinals and finals. The order of divers in the preliminary round were determined by computerized random selection, during the technical meeting. The 18 divers with the highest scores in the preliminaries proceed to the semifinals. The semifinal consisted of the top 18 ranked divers from the preliminary competition and the final consisted of the top 12 ranked divers from the semifinal. Ilya Leonidovich Zakharov (russian: Илья Леонидович Захаров; born 2 May 1991) is a Russian diver and politician. He is the 2012 Olympics gold medalist in 3 metre Springboard. Career Junior In 2007, Zakharov debuted in international tournament in diving at the Lambertz-Printenspringen in Germany where he won gold in 10m platform, a pair of silver medal with Evgeny Kuznetsov in 3m Springboard Synchro and a bronze in 3m springboard. Chen Ruolin
Chen Ruolin (; born 12 December 1992) is a Chinese diver. Her most recent competition saw her win the synchronized 10 metre platform diving event with her partner Liu Huixia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Career Chen was born in Nantong, Jiangsu. She won the gold medals in the women's 10m platform and 10m synchronized platform at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing for Team China, then duplicated the double gold performance at the London 2012 Summer Olympics. In the 2011 World Aquatics Championships held in Shanghai, Chen won two gold medals for Women's 10 m platform and Women's 10 m synchro platform (partnering Wang Hao). Wang Han (; born 24 January 1991) is a retired Chinese diver who specialises in the 1 meter and 3 meter springboard events. Wang won a silver medal in the 1 meter springboard event at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships. Early life Wang was born on 24 January 1991 in Baoding, Hebei. Tania Cagnotto (; born 15 May 1985) is an Italian diver. She is the first female Italian diver to win a medal in a World Championship. A five-time Olympian, she won medals in both individual and synchronized springboard diving in her final appearance at the Olympics in 2016. She is also a 20-time champion at the European level.
