Divine Oladipo
Divine Oladipo (born 5 October 1998) is a United States based English international athlete. She has represented England at the Commonwealth Games. Biography Oladipo was educated at Bexley Grammar School, the University of Connecticut and Ohio State University. She has won two bronze medals in the discus at the 2019 British Athletics Championships and the 2021 British Athletics Championships. In 2022, she was selected for the women's shot put and the women's discus throw events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. British Athletics Championships
The British Athletics Championships is the premier national championship in track and field held in the United Kingdom, and are organised by British Athletics. The event has doubled as the main trials meet for international team selection for major events in which Great Britain and Northern Ireland compete, including the Olympic Games, the IAAF World Championships in Athletics and the European Athletics Championships. Only British athletes may formally compete, though in some circumstances British club-affiliated foreign athletes may take part as guests. A commonwealth is a traditional English term for a political community founded for the common good. Historically, it has been synonymous with "republic". The noun "commonwealth", meaning "public welfare, general good or advantage", dates from the 15th century. 2022 Commonwealth Games
The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017. The Games marked England's third time hosting the Commonwealth Games after London 1934 and Manchester 2002, and the 7th Games held in the United Kingdom, with previous events in Wales and Scotland: Cardiff 1958, Edinburgh 1970 and 1986 and Glasgow 2014. The Games was the largest ever held, with 72 participating nations and over 1.3 million ticket sales. 2024 British Athletics Championships
The 2024 British Athletics Championships (sponsored by Microplus Timing) is the national championships in outdoor track and field for athletes in the United Kingdom, which also served as a qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The event was held on the 29 and 30 June 2024 at the Manchester Regional Arena. The 10,000 metres was held as part of the Night of the 10,000 PB's, held at Highgate Harriers' Parliament Hill, London Athletics track on 18 May. The best placed British athlete was crowned as the British champion. A men's 10,000 metre walk was held for the first time since 2000, which was won by Callum Wilkinson in a national record.
