2024 British Athletics Championships
The 2024 British Athletics Championships (sponsored by Microplus Timing) is the national championships in outdoor track and field for athletes in the United Kingdom, which also served as a qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The event was held on the 29 and 30 June 2024 at the Manchester Regional Arena. The 10,000 metres was held as part of the Night of the 10,000 PB's, held at Highgate Harriers' Parliament Hill, London Athletics track on 18 May. The best placed British athlete was crowned as the British champion. A men's 10,000 metre walk was held for the first time since 2000, which was won by Callum Wilkinson in a national record. The British 400 metres athletics champions covers four competitions; the current British Athletics Championships which was founded in 2007, the preceding AAA Championships (1880-2006), the Amateur Athletic Club Championships (1866-1879) and finally the UK Athletics Championships which existed from 1977 until 1997 and ran concurrently with the AAA Championships. James West (born 30 January 1996) is a British track and field athlete. He is a multiple-time British champion. Early life From Thanet, Kent, he is member of Tonbridge Athletics Club. He attended Loughborough University and the University of Oregon. Career In 2022 West finished as runner-up to Marc Scott in the 5000m at the British national championships, running a 13.44.47 new personal best. West won the 3000m national title in February 2023. He was selected for the Great Britain squad for the 2023 European Indoor Athletics Championships held at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul. Adam Fogg (born 27 January 1999) is a British-Australian middle-distance runner, who competes primarily over 1500 metres, the mile and 3000 metres. Career In 2021, Fogg finished fourth at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships over the mile. In 2023, he was sixth over 3000 metres at the British Indoor Athletics Championships, and won the Emsley Carr Mile in the outdoor season. George Mills (born 11 May 1999) is an English athlete specialising in the 1500 metres. He became British champion when winning the 1500 metres event at the 2020 British Athletics Championships in a time of 3 min 51.39 secs.
