Discordia (song)
"Discordia" is a song by Queensrÿche vocalist Todd La Torre and former Megadeth/King Diamond guitarist Glen Drover. Writing and recording Drover and La Torre had previously shared the stage together, when Drover joined Queensrÿche during their show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto on March 7, 2013, where they played the song "Take Hold of the Flame" from Queensrÿche's 1984 album '' The Warning'' as an encore. "Discordia" was conceived as part of a project spearheaded by Drover, who explained: "I was thinking about doing an album of heavier stuff and have a bunch of guest musicians and singers on it. Todd La Torre
Todd La Torre (; born February 19, 1974) is an American singer and drummer. He is the lead singer for progressive metal band Queensrÿche, and a former lead vocalist of the bands Crimson Glory and Rising West. Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, he learned to play the drums at a young age. Early life La Torre was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida in a musical family. His mother would take him to jazz and R&B concerts of David Sanborn, Spyro Gyra, Lee Ritenour, George Benson and Al Jarreau, while his father introduced him to music of Earl Klugh, Steely Dan and Billy Joel. La Torre got his first drum set at the age of seven. At age 10, his mother got him a classical guitar, and he started taking guitar lessons. Glen Drover (born May 25, 1969) is a Canadian heavy metal guitarist from Ottawa, Ontario. He is best known as the former lead guitarist of Megadeth and King Diamond, along with his brother Shawn Drover who also performed with Megadeth. History Glen Drover began playing guitar as a child, and was joined at age 10 by his brother Shawn on drums. The Drover brothers formed the band Eidolon in 1993, releasing seven albums to date. Kim Bendix Petersen (born 14 June 1956), better known by his stage name King Diamond, is a Danish rock musician. As a vocalist, he is known for his powerful and wide-ranging countertenor singing voice, in particular his far-reaching falsetto screams. He is the lead vocalist and lyricist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. The Phoenix Concert Theatre is a nightclub and concert venue located at 410 Sherbourne Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is large and encompasses three distinct environments. ''The Warning'' is the first studio album by American progressive metal band Queensrÿche, released on September 7, 1984, and reissued on May 6, 2003, with three bonus tracks. In 2019, ''Metal Hammer'' ranked it as the 13th best power metal album of all time. Background Queensrÿche wrote the material for ''The Warning'' during their tour in support of the ''Queensrÿche'' EP, inspired by world events and the 1949 George Orwell novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four''. The album was recorded in various recording studios in London with Pink Floyd- producer James Guthrie. Charles Billy (born June 23, 1962) is an American singer who is best known as the lead vocalist for thrash metal band Testament. Career Testament Billy joined Legacy in 1986, replacing vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza who would later join Exodus. After Legacy changed its name to Testament, the band released their debut album ''The Legacy'' in 1987, which featured one song written by Billy entitled "Do or Die".
