Disco Boy (film)
''Disco Boy'' is a 2023 European co-production drama film directed by Giacomo Abbruzzese in his debut feature and starring Franz Rogowski as Aleksei. The film depicts the intertwined stories of Aleksei, a member of the French Foreign Legion; and of Jomo, a guerrilla fighter in a village in the Niger Delta. It was selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere on 19 February 2023. Giacomo Abbruzzese, the first feature director was also nominated for GWFF Best First Feature Award in the festival. It was released in French cinemas on 3 May 2023. Franz Rogowski
Franz Rogowski (; born 2 February 1986) is a German actor and dancer. He has appeared in films directed by Michael Haneke, Christian Petzold and Terrence Malick. Life and career Franz Rogowski was born in 1986 in Freiburg im Breisgau, West Germany. The actor is known for the internationally successful film ''Victoria'' (2015). The German thriller is one of the few feature films shot in a single continuous take and won amongst other things the Silver Bear for ''Outstanding Artistic Contribution for Cinematography'' as well as the German Film Award in six categories. From 2015 until 2019 Rogowski was a member of the Munich Kammerspiele. In 2017, he appeared in the French film '' Happy End'' directed by Michael Haneke. The Glasgow Film Festival is an annual film festival based in Glasgow, Scotland. The festival began in 2005. By 2015, the festival had seen audience figures top 40,000 for two consecutive years. 2008 2008's festival took place between 14–24 February and the programme included exclusive premieres as well as a Bette Davis retrospective. 2009 The 2009 event featured an Audrey Hepburn retrospective and a birthday tribute to Errol Flynn. 2010 2010's festival took place between 18–28 February. Pascal Arbez-Nicolas (; born 18 May 1976), better known by his stage name Vitalic (), is a French electronic music producer. History His first singles were released in 1996 and 1997, but were confined to underground electronic music scene. However, he became good friends with techno producer The Hacker, whom he met in Le Rex Club, the "techno temple" of Laurent Garnier. The Hacker suggested that he should send his new tracks to DJ Hell, head of International DeeJay Gigolo Records in Munich. Pascal did so, and International DeeJay Gigolo Records released the well known ''Poney EP'' in 2001, which was a huge success shortly after its release. With the track "La Rock 01", Vitalic created a club anthem which was a hit in the summer of 2001. The track was also included on many compilation albums, even rock compilations. The César Award is the national film award of France. It is delivered in the ' ceremony and was first awarded in 1976. The nominations are selected by the members of twelve categories of filmmaking professionals and supported by the French Ministry of Culture. The nationally televised award ceremony is held in Paris each year in February. The exact location has changed over the years (in the Théâtre du Châtelet from 2002 to 2016).
