''Pet Rock'' is the second and final album from English new wave/power pop band The Sinceros. The album was released worldwide and achieved moderate commercial success. The album has been released on CD by Wounded Bird. Originally intended to be released under the title '' 2nd Debut'' in 1980, the album reached the test pressing stage but was recalled by Epic Records and reworked into ''Pet Rock'' under the guidance of producer Gus Dudgeon. The Sinceros
The Sinceros were a new wave and power pop band from London, England, who recorded two albums for Epic Records, ''The Sound of Sunbathing'' (1979) and '' Pet Rock'' (1981). Both albums were released worldwide and achieved moderate commercial success. Career Mark Kjeldsen, Bobby Irwin and Ron François first played together in a London R&B band called The Strutters. The Sinceros were primarily a vehicle for Kjeldsen's composing talents. He sang lead vocals on most of the band's material although François contributed more songs on their later albums. Prior to signing their Epic Records recording contract, the rhythm section, Irwin and François, participated in the recording of Stiff Records' recording artist Lene Lovich's '' Stateless'' album. Bobby Irwin
Bobby Irwin (23 March 1953 – 8 May 2015) was an English drummer, record producer and songwriter. He is known for working in close collaboration with Nick Lowe as co-songwriter and drummer and as a member of Lowe's band the Cowboy Outfit, as well as being the drummer for Van Morrison. Irwin was also a member of the bands Roogalator, the Sinceros and the Balham Alligators. As well as working alongside Nick Lowe and Van Morrison, Irwin also played drums/produced for many other bands and artists including Bryan Ferry, John Hiatt, Lene Lovich, Paul Carrack, Carlene Carter, Billy Bremner, Geraint Watkins, Jim Lauderdale, Eleni Mandell, Norman Bergen, Tres Chicas and My Darling Clementine. Irwin was also known as Robert Trehern (or Treherne), being credited on certain releases under that name. Robert was his given name, and Trehern was his mother's maiden name. Muff Winwood
Mervyn "Muff" Winwood (born 15 June 1943, Erdington, Birmingham, England) is a British songwriter and record producer, and the older brother of Steve Winwood. Both were members of the Spencer Davis Group in the 1960s, in which Muff Winwood played bass guitar. Following his departure from the group he became an A&R man and record producer. Early life Winwood's father, Lawrence, was a foundryman by trade, who also played tenor saxophone in dance bands and had a collection of jazz and blues records. Winwood attended Cranbourne Road Primary School and the new Great Barr School (one of the first comprehensive schools) and was a choir boy at St John's Church in the Perry Barr neighborhood of Birmingham. Eden Studios
Eden Studios was a commercial recording facility in west London. It opened in 1967, originally at 11 Eden Street in Kingston upon Thames (now under the Eden Walk shopping centre), before moving to 20-24 Beaumont Road in Chiswick in 1972. It was started by Philip Love, Mike Gardner and Piers Ford-Crush. Love and Gardner owned the studio and worked there as financial and technical directors, respectively. Ford-Crush retired in 1998. The studio closed in July 2007 and the Chiswick site was demolished for housing. Don Snow
Don Snow (born 13 January 1957 in London) is a British vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, who plays the Hammond organ, piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums and saxophone. He is primarily known for his work with the new wave bands Squeeze, the Sinceros and the Catch, as well as Procol Harum. He has also frequently toured with Van Morrison and has played the Hammond organ and piano on three of his albums. Career He started his career in 1978 as an original member of the new wave/power pop outfit the Sinceros, who were signed to Epic Records and released a string of successful albums. New Wave Music

Ron François (born April 1958) is a British musician, who first came to notice as the lead singer and bass player of the English R&B band The Strutters, which was involved in the London pub rock scene of the mid-1970s. In 1978, he recorded the debut album '' Stateless'' with the Lene Lovich band, from which came the UK hit single "Lucky Number". He then toured with the Lene Lovich band on the Stiff Records "Be Stiff Route 78 Tour" of the UK and New York.
