Dira Sugandi or DIRA (born 29 July 1979) is an Indonesian singer. Early life She was born in Bandung, West Java on 29 July 1979 into a family with a strong singing tradition (both her mother and grandmother were singers). She began her singing career as a vocal performance major in the Music Department at Pelita Harapan, earning her bachelor's degree in 2006. Career DIRA is considered one of the well-established singers and actress in Indonesia. She is known for her powerful, soulful yet airy voice which complements her style of singing. Throughout her singing career she has shared the stage with some of the world's top acts such as Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, Jason Mraz, Diane Warren, and George Duke. DIRA's debut album “Something About the Girl” was produced by Jean-Paul Maunick a.k.a. Djauhar Zaharsjah Fachruddin Roesli (10 September 1951 – 11 December 2004), better known as Harry Roesli, was an Indonesian singer-songwriter. Biography Roesli was born with the full name Djauhar Zaharsjah Fachruddin Roesli in Bandung, West Java, on 10 September 1951; he was the youngest of Major General Roeshan Roesli's four children. Harry Roesli is the grandson of Marah Roesli, a famous Indonesian writer from Minangkabau background. Harry Roesli wed to Kania Perdani Handiman, the couple have twin sons, Layala Khrisna Patria and Lahami Khrisna Parana. Ismail Marzuki Park, (Indonesian: Taman Ismail Marzuki, TIM), is an arts, cultural, and science center located at Cikini in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 14th Annual Anugerah Musik Indonesia was held on July 6, 2011, at the Ballroom Central Park in Tanjung Duren Selatan, West Jakarta. The show was broadcast live on RCTI and was hosted by Okky Lukman, Raffi Ahmad and Pica Priscilla. The show was a collaboration between Anugerah Musik Indonesia Foundation and RCTI. The theme of the show was Mahakarya Musik Indonesia. Musicians, singers, and composers were nominated for 46 different categories awards. Besides the categories used in previous years, this year will also have the category Pop Trendy, a subdivision of the pre-existing pop category.
