Diplopora Oregonensis
''Diplopora oregonensis'' is a species of algae in the genus ''Diplopora'' in the family Diploporaceae. It is a unique species of marine dasycladacean algae from the Triassic period. It was discovered by George Stanley of the University of Montana, with findings published in the 1980s. It was obtained from sands and shales of the Wallowa volcanic archipelago, more specifically the Hurwal Formation in eastern Oregon. Wallowa Mountains
The Wallowa Mountains () are a mountain range located in the Columbia Plateau of northeastern Oregon in the United States. The range runs approximately northwest to southeast in southwestern Wallowa County and eastern Union County between the Blue Mountains to the west and the Snake River to the east. The range is sometimes considered to be an eastern spur of the Blue Mountains, and it is known as the "Alps of Oregon".
