The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna (DA; German: ''Diplomatische Akademie Wien''), also known as the Vienna School of International Studies, is a postgraduate professional school based in Vienna, Austria, with focused training for students and professionals in the areas of international affairs, political science, law, languages, history and economics. The school confers PhD degrees, Master's degrees and postgraduate diplomas upon its graduates. It is an affiliate member school of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs in Austria. Emil Brix
Emil Brix (born 1956) is an Austrian diplomat and historian. Life and career Born 1956 in Vienna, he studied English and History at the University of Vienna. Starting in 1982, he worked for the Foreign Service of the Republic of Austria. From 1984 to 1986, he was a secretary of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), and from 1986 to 1989, he worked in the office of the federal minister for science and research, Hans Tuppy. From 1990 to 1995, he was the consul general in Kraków, and from 1995 to 1999, he was the manager of the Austrian Institute for Culture in London. Until early 2010, he was the director of the politico-cultural section of the foreign office. Between April 2010 and January 2015, Brix was the Austrian ambassador in London. High Representative For Bosnia And Herzegovina
The High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, were created in 1995 immediately after the signing of the Dayton Agreement which ended the 1992–1995 Bosnian War. The purpose of the High Representative and the OHR is to oversee the civilian implementation of the Dayton agreement. Valentin Inzko
Valentin Inzko (born 22 May 1949) is an Austrian diplomat who served as the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2009 to 2021. He also served as the European Union Special Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2009 to 2011. Background Inzko was born into a Carinthian Slovene family in Klagenfurt, Carinthia. His father, Valentin Inzko Sr., was a renowned cultural and political activist of the local Slovene minority. Heinrich Pfusterschmid-Hardtenstein (*16 January 1927, Graz, Styria) is a former Austrian diplomat, who has also been active in the academic world and cultural policy. Biography After attending elementary and secondary school (1934–45) Heinrich Pfusterschmid-Hardtenstein studied law at the University of Graz. Following graduation as doctor of law he practiced at courts and legal firms in his home town.
