Dionysis Hatzidakis
Dionysis Hatzidakis is the mayor of Palaio Faliro, one of the municipalities in the greater Athens area, Greece.http://www.palaiofaliro.gr/ retrieved July 2015 He was born in Chania in Crete. After graduating from the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1965, he spent 27 years in the Greek Navy, commanding three warships. From 1991 to 1994 he served as Naval Attaché of Greece in Paris where he participated in the renegotiation of the Mirage 2000 acquisition, the arrangements for the UNFICYP and the negotiations for the establishment of Exocet missiles in Cyprus. For nine years from 1994 he was the general director of the political office of the former prime minister Konstantinos Mitsotakis. In 1998 he stood as a candidate for Mayor of Palaio Faliro, but was defeated by Dimitris Kapsanis, coming second in the second round with 47.7% of the vote. Dimitris Kapsanis is a Greek lawyer and politician who served four times as the mayor of Palaio Faliro, one of the municipalities in the greater Athens, Greece area.http://www.palaiofaliro.gr/ retrieved July 2015 He first assumed the mayoralty on 6 April 1975 and was re-elected in 1978 and 1982, then made a comeback with a fourth term starting in January 1999. A lawyer by trade, he was elected mayor of Palaio Faliro in the first municipal elections after the fall of the Greek Junta, gaining 50.4% of the vote, succeeding D. Bavarezos. After three terms he was succeeded by Chrysoveridis in 1987. When Chrysoveridis retired, he again stood for mayor in the 1998 election, winning in the second round with 52.3% of the vote at the head of the Independent Alliance "Faliro". New Democracy (ND; el, Νέα Δημοκρατία, Néa Dimokratía, ) is a liberal-conservative political party in Greece. June 2023 Greek Legislative Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 25 June 2023. All 300 seats in the Hellenic Parliament were contested. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called for the snap vote after the May 2023 Greek legislative election, May 2023 elections did not result in any party gaining a majority, although his centre-right New Democracy (Greece), New Democracy made unanticipated gains and increased its share of the vote. As a result, no coalition government was formed by any of the parties eligible to do so. In contrast to the May elections, the June vote used a majority bonus system, making a majority government more likely.
