A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Diomedes Díaz Maestre (26 May 1957 – 22 December 2013) was a Colombian vallenato singer, songwriter, and composer. Alejandro Palacio is a Colombian musician and singer of vallenato music, actor and TV host. Palacio was one of the backup singers for the vallenato group Binomio de Oro de America who joined in 2004 after many singers passed through the musical group.
