"Dinge von denen" (Things of which) is a song by German rock Die Ärzte. It is the fifth track on the first CD and the second single from their 2003 album ''Geräusch''. It is about the singers dislike for hearing about other peoples ailments such as gross details that result from a medical condition, or complaints they have with other people. Music video The music video is a parody of German 1970s music shows similar to ''Top of the Pops''. It is in black-and-white and was shot on a reconstructed set of the German game show ''Dalli, Dalli'' (''Hurry, hurry''). In reference to ''Dalli, Dalli'' host Hans Rosenthal the host in the music video uses Rosenthal's catchphrase at the end: "So, wir sind der Meinung, das war spitze" (''Well, in our opinion it was great''), Like Rosental the host then jumps into the air and the picture freezes. Die Ärzte (; ) is a German rock band from Berlin. The band has released 14 studio albums. The group consists of guitarist Farin Urlaub, drummer Bela B and bass player Rodrigo González. All three write and perform their songs. History Early years Die Ärzte were formed in West Berlin in 1982 by Jan Vetter (alias Farin Urlaub, a pun on the expression "Fahr' in Urlaub", meaning "Go on vacation"), Dirk Felsenheimer (alias Bela B, referring to Dracula actor Bela Lugosi) and bassist Hans Runge, alias . Bela and Farin had previously played together in the punk band Soilent Grün, established in 1979 and named after the film ''Soylent Green''. The package is designed, using upside-down techniques, to make it difficult to decide which of the covers is the front. Psychedelic Pop
Psychedelic pop (or acid pop) is pop music that contains musical characteristics associated with psychedelic music. Developing in the late 1960s, elements included " trippy" features such as fuzz guitars, tape manipulation, backwards recording, sitars, and Beach Boys-style harmonies, wedded to melodic songs with tight song structures. The style lasted into the early 1970s. It has seen revivals in subsequent decades by neo-psychedelic artists. Characteristics According to AllMusic, psychedelic pop was not too "freaky", but also not very "bubblegum" either. "Unrockbar" is a punk song by German band Die Ärzte. It's the first track on CD2 and the first single from their 2003 album ''Geräusch''. The title is a self-derived German word which can be translated as "unrockable", "unable to rock", or "unable to be rocked". The lyrics tell the story of a man who, to his shock and dismay, realizes that his girlfriend dislikes rock music. References are made to Ricky Martin, Shakira as "unrockbar" and Beatsteaks as "rockbar" (in the song nothing is actually dubbed "rockbar" and "unrockbar", but are mentioned in corresponding contexts). Hans Rosenthal
Hans Rosenthal (2 April 1925 – 10 February 1987) was a radio editor, director, and one of the most popular German radio and television hosts of the 1970s and 1980s. Life Rosenthal grew up in a Jewish family on Winsstraße No. 63, in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin. His childhood was marked by an aggressive antisemitic atmosphere, the result of rising German Nazism. His father died of kidney failure in 1937 after he had lost his job at Deutsche Bank AG. When his mother died of colorectal cancer in 1941, Hans and his younger brother Gert (born 1932) found themselves in the orphanage. Starting in 1940, Hans was forced to participate in unfree labour, while his brother was deported and like many other relatives murdered in the Holocaust. Wilhelm Wieben (2 June 1935 – 13 June 2019) was a German journalist, actor and author, best known for presenting the daily news in '' Tagesschau'', the most-watched news program on German television, from 1973 to 1998. Biography Wieben was born in Hennstedt, Dithmarschen. After school he studied theater at ''Max-Reinhardt-Schule für Schauspiel'' in Berlin. Rodrigo González (musician)
Rodrigo "Rod" Andrés González EspÃndola (born 19 May 1968) is a Chilean-born German musician known as the bassist and one of the singers of German rock band Die Ärzte. Early life González' parents were politically persecuted in Chile during the Pinochet dictatorship, and so were granted asylum in Hamburg. His family initially lived there on social benefits until his father found work. He completed his '' Abitur'' (school-leaving exams) at the Gymnasium Langenhorn. He has an older sister, Claudia, who also works as a musician (Universal González). As a teenager, González was a member of the band Die Erben. From 1986 to 1988, he played banjo in the Hamburg punk band Die Goldenen Zitronen, and from 1988 to 1989 he was the guitarist in the Rainbirds.
