Zahida Parveen was a Pakistani classical singer and playback singer. She was known as ''The Nightingale'' and ''The Queen of Kafi''. Early life Zahida Parveen was born in 1925 at Amritsar, Punjab during British India. Her parents died when she was very young so she was raised by one of her sisters, Peeran Ditti. She joined Patiala Gharana School to learn singing from sarangi player Baba Taj from Kapurthalla. Then she studied with Hussain Bakhsh Khan, a sarangi player from Amritsar. Career After partition, she moved to Pakistan and learned singing from Ashiq Hussain of Patiala Gharana in Lahore. Then she started singing at Radio Pakistan Lahore. Munir Hussain (singer)
Munir Hussain (1930 - 27 September 1995) was a Pakistani playback singer. While working in Pakistani films for over thirty-eight years, he primarily sung for Urdu and Punjabi language films. His work include 217 songs in 163 films. He was one of the first Pakistani singers who earned his recognition in Lollywood, a film industry that produces Urdu and Punjabi-language films. Fayyaz Hashmi
Fayyaz Hashmi ( ur, ; 1920 2011) was a Pakistani poet and screenwriter who worked both in the Cinema of India, Indian and Cinema of Pakistan, Pakistani film industry. He penned some memorable songs such as the famous nazm Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo and ''Tasveer teri dil mera behela nah sakegi''. The latter made the singer Talat Mahmood famous in India back in 1944 and was instrumental in introducing him to the Calcutta film industry. A little known fact about him is that he wrote the famous 'Na tum mere na dil mera', that was sung by Kamla Jharia, among many others.
