Dihininet Demsew Jara (born 15 September 1994) is an Ethiopian female long-distance runner who competes in road running events, including the marathon. She represented her country at the 2016 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and shared in the team silver medal with Netsanet Gudeta and Genet Yalew after finishing eighth individually. She made her debut in the marathon at the 2009 Košice Peace Marathon, where she finished fifth in a time of 2:48:03 hours. Long-distance running, or endurance running, is a form of continuous running over distances of at least . Physiologically, it is largely Aerobic exercise, aerobic in nature and requires endurance, stamina as well as mental strength. Within endurance running comes two different types of respiration. The more prominent side that runners experience more frequently is aerobic respiration. This occurs when oxygen is present, and the body is able to utilize oxygen to help generate energy and muscle activity. On the other side, anaerobic respiration occurs when the body is deprived of oxygen, and this is common towards the final stretch of races when there is a drive to speed up to a greater intensity. Overall, both types of respiration are used by endurance runners quite often, but are very different from each other. IAAF World Half Marathon Championships
The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships is a biennial international half marathon competition organised by World Athletics. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 1992 and held annually until 2010. It was renamed the IAAF World Road Running Championships in 2006 and reduced in distance to a 20K run, but reverted to the half marathon distance the following year and to the original competition name the year after that. The competition was renamed to its current title in 2020 after the governing body rebranded itself moving away from the long-standing International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) moniker. Cleveland Marathon
The Cleveland Marathon is an annual marathon in Cleveland, Ohio. The course begins at the corner of St. Clair and 9th and participants have eight hours to finish the race. The first edition was held in 1978. A half marathon, and 10K, including a Corporate Team Challenge, are held concurrently with the full marathon. A 5k race is held on the day before the marathon race day. At the finish line of the marathon, half marathon, and 10K the Rock Party is held. The M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon (VCM) is an annual marathon in the city of Burlington, Vermont, in the United States, first held on May 28, 1989. The race is held on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and attracts runners from all over the world. It is produced by RunVermont, a not-for-profit organization.
