''Digital Ghosts'' is the sixth album by the progressive-metal group Shadow Gallery. It was released on October 23, 2009, in Europe and November 3, 2009, in the U.S. This is the first album since their former singer Mike Baker died on October 29, 2008. Track listing * "Two Shadows" is a reworked song (a Japanese bonus track from disc Room V) with vocals by Mike Baker. * "Gold Dust" is a demo version of album song with vocals by Carl-Cadden James. * "In Your Window" is a cappella version of the vocal harmonies from the album song "Digital Ghost". * "World of Fantasy" is a demo version of a non-album song with vocals by Mike Baker. Shadow Gallery
:''The Shadow Gallery is also the name of the home of the protagonist in the graphic novel V for Vendetta.'' Shadow Gallery is an American progressive metal band formed in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania during the early 1980s. It was originally called Sorcerer. After changing their name to Shadow Gallery (taken from the graphic novel ''V for Vendetta'' by Alan Moore) and recording a short 8-track demo, the band was signed to Magna Carta Records in 1991. Shadow Gallery's eponymous debut was released the following year in Japan and Europe. In mid-2005, Shadow Gallery released their fifth studio album, '' Room V'', on the European-American independent label Inside Out. Suspyre
Suspyre is an American progressive metal band from New Jersey, United States, who were formed in 2001. About the band Suspyre's sound is heavily influenced by a wide variety of bands and composers, most prominently Dream Theater, Opeth, Symphony X, Mahler, Stravinsky, Mozart and Bach. In the summer of 2001 drummer Chris Myers hosted a jam session at his house with guitarists Gregg Rossetti and Rich Skibinsky. Kevin O'Hara, a singer whose musical interests are as varied as The Backstreet Boys and medieval music, was asked to be the singer. His debut performance was a metal version of "The Star-Spangled Banner," America's National Anthem. Gregg left for college in August of that year, while Rich and Chris were still in high school. A shadow is a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It occupies all of the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or a reverse projection of the object blocking the light. Point and non-point light sources A point source of light casts only a simple shadow, called an "umbra". For a non-point or "extended" source of light, the shadow is divided into the umbra, penumbra, and antumbra. The wider the light source, the more blurred the shadow becomes. Vivien Lalu (born 2 December 1978 in Paris, France) is a French composer, record producer, sound designer and keyboardist who plays in the melodic / progressive metal band A-Z as well as his own progressive rock project, Lalu. His distinctive signature as a Keyboardist is his inventive use of keyboard layers, which frequently combine New-age music elements with retro, progressive rock textures. Rock Hard praised Lalu for his "endlessly imaginative keyboard arrangements". Primal Fear (band)
Primal Fear is a German power metal band formed in 1997 by Ralf Scheepers (vocals, ex-Gamma Ray) and Mat Sinner (bass and vocals, Sinner). Sinner and Scheepers formed the band after Scheepers was not hired as Rob Halford's replacement in Judas Priest. History Primal Fear was founded in October 1997 by singer Ralf Scheepers and Mat Sinner. Scheepers and Sinner have been constants in the heavy metal scene before the band was founded. Ralf Scheepers sang in the bands Tyran Pace, F.B.I. and the internationally successful band Gamma Ray. After a gig with his Judas Priest cover band Just Priest in which Mat Sinner and Tom Naumann helped out the idea arose to found Primal Fear. Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad :Fusion music genres, fusion music genre melding heavy metal music, heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified electric guitar, guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. ''Room V'' is the fifth album by the progressive metal group Shadow Gallery, released in 2005 (see 2005 in music). It continues the story started in ''Tyranny'', picking up after Tyranny's Act II. It is the band's first album not featuring longtime keyboardist Chris Ingles, although he did have input in the album's writing process before his departure. It is also their last album to feature longtime lead vocalist Mike Baker, who died of a heart attack in 2008.
