Dianne Kohler Barnard
Dianne Kohler Barnard is a South African politician and former journalist, and a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Alliance (DA). In October 2015, she was expelled from the party by the DA Federal Executive. In December 2015, the decision was lifted on appeal to the DA's Federal Legal Commission. She was born in Port Elizabeth, and currently resides in KwaZulu-Natal, where she represents the Durban South constituency. Career in journalism Kohler Barnard spent 23 years working as a radio and print journalist. She ran the KwaZulu-Natal offices of SAfm and also presented/produced the station's afternoon news programme ''The Editors''. Kohler Barnard is also the former chairperson of the Broadcast, Electronic Media and Allied Workers' Union in KwaZulu-Natal, and was a founder member of the inaugural SABC HIV/Aids Committee. Sydney Opperman
Sydney Edward Opperman (born 25 June 1942) is a retired South African politician from the Western Cape. He represented the Democratic Party and Democratic Alliance (DA) in the National Assembly from 1999 to 2009, gaining election to the Western Cape caucus in 1999 and 2004 2004 was designated as an International Year of Rice by the United Nations, and the International Year to Commemorate the Struggle Against Slavery and its Abolition (by UNESCO). Gareth Morgan (born 22 March 1977) is a South African politician and a former member of parliament with the opposition Democratic Alliance. He is a former Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, and previously worked as South Africa's Shadow Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs. He was South Africa's first carbon neutral Member of Parliament. He resigned from office in January 2013 to pursue a career in consulting., before joining the City of Cape Town as Principal Trade and Investment Officer in June 2015. Roy Jankielsohn (born 3 December 1967) is a South African politician who has been the leader of the opposition in the Free State Provincial Legislature since 2014. He has been the provincial leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Free State since 2020. James Masango is a South African politician, and a member of the opposition Democratic Alliance (DA). He currently serves in the national leadership as deputy chairperson of the Federal Council, and as a municipal councillor for the DA in Govan Mbeki municipality. Masango is the former leader of the opposition in the Mpumalanga provincial legislature, and was also formerly a member of Parliament's National Assembly (MP), where he served as the Chairperson of Caucus. PW Botha
Pieter Willem Botha, (; 12 January 1916 – 31 October 2006), commonly known as P. W. and af, Die Groot Krokodil (The Big Crocodile), was a South African politician. He served as the last prime minister of South Africa from 1978 to 1984 and the first executive state president of South Africa from 1984 to 1989. First elected to Parliament in 1948, Botha was an outspoken opponent of black majority rule and international communism.
