Ojārs Raimonds Pauls (born 12 January 1936 in Iļģuciems, Riga, Latvia) is a Latvian composer and piano player who is well known in Latvia, Russia, post-Soviet countries and worldwide. He was the Minister of Culture of Latvia from 1988 to 1993. Biography Raimonds Pauls is the second child of Iļguciems' glass blowing factory worker Voldemārs Pauls and seamstress Alma Matilde Brodele. Balázs Havasi (born 18 September 1975) is a Hungarian pianist and composer. As a contemporary composer, he has founded four different musical projects, including compositions for a symphony orchestra, rock drums, and piano. Education Havasi first played the piano at the age of 4. In 1996, at the age of 21, he was already a teacher at Weiner Leó Conservatory. He then went on to study at Franz Liszt Academy of Music. His professors included then rector Sándor Falvai and Jenő Jandó. During his years at the Academy of Music, Havasi won first prize at a piano competition of Yamaha Foundation of Europe. (born January 19, 1968, Takamatsu), is a classically trained Japanese violinist and composer. Early life and education Among Kawai's favorite childhood memories are going to the cinema with her father Kiyoshi; she was captivated by film's soundtracks. She took music lessons in Marugame City and later attended Tokyo University of the Arts for her Bachelor's and graduate degrees. She also attended the Vienna Conservatory of Music.
