Diana Lebacs
Diana Melinda Lebacs (12 September 1947 – 11 July 2022) was a Curaçaoan educator, actress, and author, most known for her children's literature. She wrote in both Papiamento and Dutch. In 1976 she received the (Silver Stylus) award, one of the Netherlands' highest honors for youth literature, for her book ''Nancho van Bonaire''. In 2003 she earned the inaugural ''Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied'' (PBCCG Cultuurprijs, Prince Bernhard Caribbean Cultural Fund Prize) for her book ''Caimin's geheim'' and in 2007 she was honored as a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. Early life Diana Melinda Lebacs was born on 12 September 1947 in the Chere Asile neighborhood of Willemstad, capital of the Territory of Curaçao. Her mother, Esther Amalia Doelwijt, was Creole from Suriname and spoke Sranan Tongo, having moved to Curaçao at the age of eighteen. Digital Library For Dutch Literature
The Digital Library for Dutch Literature (Dutch: Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren or DBNL) is a website (showing the abbreviation as dbnl) about Dutch language and Dutch literature. It contains thousands of literary texts, secondary literature and additional information, like biographies, portrayals etcetera, and hyperlinks. The DBNL is an initiative by the DBNL foundation that was founded in 1999 by the Society of Dutch Literature (Dutch: Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde). Building of the DNBL was made possible by donations, among others, from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (Dutch: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek or NWO) and the Nederlandse Taalunie. Amigoe
The ''Amigoe'' is a Dutch-language daily newspaper with editorials in Curaçao and whose audience are the peoples of the former Netherlands Antilles, specifically Curaçao and Aruba. The newspaper is one of the most widely read dailies in Aruba. The newspaper was founded on December 1883 under the name of ''Amigoe di Curaçao'' by the Dominican Order. It began its circulation in Aruba in 1884. The edition used to be weekly until 1935, when it started to be published two times each week. Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer arises when cell (biology), cells in the pancreas, a glandular organ behind the stomach, begin to multiply out of control and form a Neoplasm, mass. These cancerous cells have the malignant, ability to invade other parts of the body. A number of types of pancreatic cancer are known.
