Modibo Diakité (born 2 March 1987) is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Italian Serie D club Roma City. Abdoulaye Diakité
Abdoulaye Diakité (December 15, 1950 – January 8, 2018) was an influential djembe master drummer and teacher from Tambacounda, Senegal. He was the lead djembe player of the National Ballet of Senegal for 18 years before emigrating to the United States. Early life Born in Tambacounda in 1950, Diakité was a member of the Bamana ethnic group from Mali. The Bamana are a tribe of the Malinke (mainly in Mali and Senegal) that resisted modernization and Christian missionary efforts. Diakité began drumming at the age of seven. Throughout his youth, Diakité was known for his natural ability on the djembe drum. For many years, he studied with his teacher Suncaru Jara in Tambacounda. Jara's teacher was Chebleni Traore whose teacher was Numuni Traore, the first master drummer to take the djembe out of Bamana secrecy, igniting its diaspora. Life & Origins

Ramata was born in 1976. Although Ramata did not come from a family of traditional musicians, when she was about twelve, Ramata started humming to herself in secret, accompanying herself on a gourd. In Wassoulou (and other areas of Mali), music is usually created by those of a certain caste ( jeli/griot), and it can be controversial for artists outside of these castes to perform.



Moussa Diakité
Moussa Diakité (1927 – 4 July 1985) was a Guinean politician during the presidency of Ahmed Sékou Touré. He was a member of the national Politburo. His wife, Tata Keïta, was half sister of the President's wife Andrée, and his son married the eldest daughter of Ismael Touré, the president's brother. In March 1952 Diakité ran for election in Kankan on the RDA platform, while Sékou Touré ran for the forest region. Both men lost. After Touré became first President of Guinea after independence in 1958, Diakite held a number of cabinet posts, serving as minister of banking, security and internal affairs, economy and finance and housing. As Minister-Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Guinea in 1962 he was involved in negotiations with the United States of America over guarantees for foreign investors.
