Dhoapatta
''Dhoapatta'' is a Maldivian romantic drama television series developed for Television Maldives by Abdul Faththaah. The series stars Jamsheedha Ahmed, Mohamed Shavin, Sheela Najeeb and Niuma Mohamed in pivotal roles. Premise Ruqiyya (Haajara Abdul Kareem), a gluttonous woman and a local medicine practitioner forces her step-daughter, Aminath ( Sheela Najeeb) to marry a wealthy old businessman, Gadhir. Fayaz (Mohamed Shavin) visits Ha. Kelaa for medication from Ruqiyya where he meets Aminath and her childhood friend Nasiha (Jamsheedha Ahmed). Nasiha is attracted to Fayaz though she is in a serious relationship with a short-tempered dominant man, Shahid (Ashraf Numaan) while Aminath shows interest in Fayaz too. Koyya Hassan Manik
Hassan Ali Manik professionally known as Koyya Hassan Manik (25 April 1953 – 20 February 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career 1989–2008: Early releases and first lead role with ''Ajaaib'' In 1989, Najuma offered him to feature in ''Hama Mihaaru'', one of the programs aired in the Dhivehi Rajjeyge Adu, where he took part in a total of eighteen episodes in a span of three years. Arifa Ibrahim
Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. Jamsheedha Ahmed
Jamsheedha Ahmed (2 December 1978) is a Maldivian actress. Career 1996–99: Early releases and ''Amaanaaiy'' Ahmed made her screen debut in 1996 with the video single titled "Nudhaashe Dhookohfaa Loabivaa" performed by Abdul Sameeu. Recalling her memories of the song, Ahmed said it was a "fun experience" accepted as a favor to her friend. With her "timid" behavior and lack of trainings, Ahmed "struggled" while performing the song. However, upon release, the song was accepted among the audience where she received several offers to feature in songs and film. Mohamed Shavin is a Maldivian film actor. Career In 2000, he played the role of Fayaz, an ignorant husband who is deeply in love with a patient suffering from congenital heart disease in Abdul Faththaah's television drama series '' Dhoapatta''. Sheela Najeeb (born 7 September 1974) is a Maldivian film actress. She has established a career in Maldivian Film Industry and is the recipient of several awards, one Gaumee Film Awards and two Maldivian Film Awards. She made her screen debut alongside Junaid in a music video "Nudhaashey Magey Loabivaa" and featured in several films afterwards. Niuma Mohamed (pronounced ; 20 October 1977) is a Maldivian film actress, director, and producer. The highest-paid actress in Maldives, Mohamed is the recipient of several awards, including two Gaumee Film Awards, and four Maldives Film Awards. She holds the record for collecting all three Maldives Film Awards for Best Actress in a feature film. In 2011, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s.
