Dhimitër Xhuvani
Dhimitër Xhuvani (1934–2009) was an Albanian writer and screenwriter. Biography Xhuvani was born in 1934 in Pogradec. His father, Kostaq Xhuvani, was a respected teacher from Elbasan. In 1944, during World War II, his family fled from Pogradec and took refuge in Mokër, where they stayed until their country was liberated, after which they moved to Elbasan. After finishing medical high-school he worked in the rural hospitals of Librazhd, Peqin, Gramsh, and Cërrik. After leaving medicine he continued his studies in the ''Faculty of History and Philology'' in Tiranë and later in Moscow. Tiranë
Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its location at the Plain of Tirana and the close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean seasonal climate. Cërrik (; sq-definite, Cërriku ) is a municipality in Elbasan County, central Albania. The municipality consists of the administrative units of Gostimë, Klos, Mollas, Shalës with Cërrik constituting its seat. As of the Institute of Statistics estimate from the 2011 census, there were 6,695 people residing in Cërrik and 27,445 in Cërrik Municipality. Geography Cërrik is located between the Shkumbin River and Devoll River in central Albania. Economy Cërrik developed around an oil refinery plant that was being constructed in 1952 and started operations on 8 November 1956.
