Dharma (1998 Film)
''Dharma'' is a 1998 Tamil-language action film directed by Keyaar. The film stars Vijayakanth and Preetha Vijayakumar. The film, produced by A. Abbas Rowther, has a musical score by Ilaiyaraaja and was released on 9 July 1998. It was moderately successful at the box office. The film is a remake of the Hindi film ''Ziddi''. Plot Dharma (Vijayakanth) lives with his lawyer father (Jaishankar), mother (Vadivukkarasi), journalist brother Vijay (Thalaivasal Vijay), and beloved sister Geetha ( Shilpa). Later, Dharma and Sharmila (Preetha Vijayakumar) fall in love with each other. Dharma is an angry man who cannot tolerate injustice. One day, his sister is molested by the rowdy Raja, and Dharma kills him in public. Thus, he is sent to jail. In the meantime, his friend Ranjith (Ranjith) becomes an ACP. Keyaar
Kothanda Ramaiah (also known as K.R and Keyaar) is an Indian Tamils, Tamil film director, producer, distributor and exhibitor. He has held various leading positions in different film industry organizations. Career KR studied film processing at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute, Adyar Film Institute in Chennai in 1972. Upon graduation in 1975, he spent three years as a technician in DD Chennai, Doordarshan Kendra. KR made his debut film as a director and producer with the Malayalam film ''Sisirathil Oru Vasantham''. Prior to its release, the film faced a number of distribution problems and was eventually released by Suguna Screens in 1980. A ''raga'' or ''raag'' (; also ''raaga'' or ''ragam''; ) is a melodic framework for improvisation in Indian classical music akin to a melodic mode. Pulamaipithan
Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935. At the early age Pulavar used to work in textile mill known as Combodia mills in Coimbatore and also studied his Tamil literature in Tava Tiru Shanthalinga Adigalar Perur Tamil Kaluri Coimbatore. He came to Chennai in 1964 with the ambition of writing songs for Tamil films. He worked as a Tamil teacher at Santhome high school before he started writing lyrics in Tamil films. Singamuthu
Singamuthu (born 8 December 1958) is an Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil language films as a comedian. Career Singamuthu has primarily appeared in comedy roles in films as a supporting actor debuting in ''Neram Nalla Irukku'' (1987). He started developing his career in the acting sector by doing small comedy roles in cinemas. He often shared screen space with popular comedian Vadivelu, and the duo has given many hilarious comedy scenes to Tamil movies. Singamuthu's son, Vaasan Karthik, made his debut as an actor through ''Maa Madurai'' (2007), but failed to make a career in the film industry. Controversy In 2010, Vadivelu held a press conference, accusing Singamuthu for forgery and financial cheating.
