Dharkayn Genyo
Dharkayn Geenyo (Dharkayngeenyo, Darkeyn Genyo) is a town in the southern Sool region of Somalia. Overview It is located on the Somaliland-Ethiopia border. Dharkayn Geenyo is a historical town, it was an important border post during the Siad Barre government period with one of the biggest Somali military bases,. In a book published in England in 1951, Dharkayn Geenyo is listed under the name Darkein Genyo. In January 1982, an officer relative of President Barre was murdered in Dharkayn Geenyo. In July 1999, Garaad Cali Buraale Xasan Gaba'aweyte was installed as the new Garaad (chief) of the Qayaad clan in Dharkayn Geenyo. In October 2010, Qayaad chief Garaad Cali Buraale held a clan meeting in Dharkayn Geenyo to discuss the relationship with Somaliland and other issues. Sool, Somalia
Sool ( so, Sool, ar, صول) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in south eastern Somaliland/north western Somalia. It borders Togdheer to the west, Sanaag to the north, Ethiopia to the south and Nugal, Bari to the east. Its capital city is Las Anod. The region is disputed by the self-declared Republic of Somaliland and Puntland, a Federal Member State of Somalia. The region is partially controlled by both polities. Khatumo State
Khatumo State ( so, Khaatumo; ar, ولاية خاتمة, translit=wilāyat khātimah), officially the Khatumo State of Somalia ( so, Dowlad Goboleedka Khaatumo ee Soomaaliya), was a successor to the SSC Movement. Las Anod
Las Anod ( so, Laascaanood; ar, لاسعانود) is the administrative capital of the Sool region of Somaliland. Territorial dispute The city is disputed by Puntland and Somaliland. The former bases its claim due to the kinship ties between the Dhulbahante clan and the dominant clan in Puntland, the Majeerteen, whilst the latter's claim is grounded on the border of the former British Somaliland Protectorate. The city was the proclaimed capital of Khatumo State throughout its existence until its dissolvement in 2017.
