Babulal Marandi
Babulal Marandi (; born 11 January 1958) is an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand and current Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. He was the founder and national President of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik). He was the Member of Parliament in 12th, 13th 14th and 15th Lok Sabha from Jharkhand. He was the Union State Minister (MoS) for Forests & Environment of India in the BJP – led National Democratic Alliance Government in 1998 to 2000. 2005 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2005 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election was held in three phases from 3 to 23 February 2005 to elect the 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. It was the first election held in Jharkhand to elect the Second Jharkhand Legislative Assembly; the First/Interim Jharkhand Legislative Assembly was constituted based on the 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. Jharkhand was created by carving out the southern districts of Bihar on 15 November 2000. The election resulted in a hung assembly like the first one. No single party or pre-election alliance got the majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party become the biggest party by winning 30 seats. Ravindra Kumar Ray (born 2 May 1958) is an Indian politician and member of parliament from Koderma constituency, Jharkhand. He won in the Indian general election in 2014 as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. 2014 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2014 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election (Hindi: झारखण्ड विधानसभा चुनाव) was held in five phases between November 25 and December 20 to elect the members of the 4th Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The results were announced on December 23, 2014. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) won the elections defeating The Indian National Congress (INC) and its major allies Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The term of the legislative assembly of Jharkhand ended on January 3, 2015. The Chief Election Commissioner announced five-phased assembly elections to be held in Jharkhand along with Jammu and Kashmir beginning November 25 and ending December 20. Elections for the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly were held in December 2009. It was a contest between three alliances The Indian National Congress (INC), The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and its major ally Janata Dal (United), and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The poll result was a shock for the incumbent BJP-JD(U) Alliance as they could muster only a quarter of the state assembly's 81 seats.
