Dhabba Oil Terminal
Dhabba Oil Terminal () is a key Yemeni oil port. It lies western of Ash-Shihr town in Yemen's eastern Hadramawt on the Arabian Sea. The Dhabba Oil Terminal is mainly used to export oil and gas from Hadramawt governorate. October 2022 attack On 21 October 2022 the terminal was targeted with drones for the first time by Yemen's rebel Houthi movement. The Yemeni government said it intercepted Houthi armed drones launched against al-Dhabba oil terminal when a Greek-owned oil tanker "Nissos" was preparing to dock to load 2 million barrels of crude from the terminal. There was no damage to the port and the tanker, but the Greek company said the attack targeted a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker, the Nissos Kea. Yemen (; ar, ٱلْيَمَن, al-Yaman), officially the Republic of Yemen,, ) is a country in Western Asia. Ash-Shihr
Ash-Shihr ( ar, ٱلشِّحْر, al-Shiḥr), also known as al-Shir or simply Shihr, is a coastal town in Hadhramaut, eastern Yemen. Ash-Shihr is a walled town located on a sandy beach. There is an anchorage but no docks; boats are used. The main export is fish oil. The town is divided in two by a ''wādi'' (dry riverbed) called al-Misyāl. The western quarter is called Majraf and the eastern al-Ramla. As of 1997 it had several souqs (markets): the Sūq al-Lakham, Sūq al-Hunūd, Sūq Shibām, etc. History The history of ash-Shihr (formerly also al-Asʿāʾ) can be traced back as far as about AD 780., at 47. Hadhramaut or Hadramawt or Hadramout ( ar, حضرموت ''Ḥaḍramawt'') is a governorate of Yemen. Lying within the large historical region of Hadhramaut, it is the country's largest governorate. The capital of Hadhramut is the city of Mukalla. Other cities in Hadhramaut include the historical towns of Shibam, Sena, Seiyun, Tarim, and Ash Shihr. The Houthi movement (; ar, ٱلْحُوثِيُّون ''al-Ḥūthīyūn'' ), officially called Ansar Allah (' ''Partisans of God'' or ''Supporters of God'') and colloquially simply Houthis, is an Islamist, Islamist political and armed movement that emerged from Saada in Yemen Arab Republic, North Yemen in the 1990s. The Houthi movement is a predominately Zaidiyyah, Zaidi Shia Islam, Shia force, whose leadership is drawn largely from the Houthi tribe. The Cabinet of Yemen refers to the governing body of the internationally recognized Yemen government led by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad al-Alimi who replaced former President of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi on 7 April 2022 as the new President of Yemen. He then selected new cabinet members of the Yemeni Government. Port of ِِAl-Shihr () is a key oil port in Yemen. It is located in Hadramawt Governorate eastern Yemen. It was constructed mainly to export crude oil, but it is currently used to receive other goods. Hudaydah Port
The Hudaydah Port is a key Yemeni port on the Red Sea coast. It is the second largest port in the country, located in Hudeidah, the fourth largest city in Yemen. The port handles up to 80% of the humanitarian supplies, fuel and commercial goods in northern Yemen. Location The port is situated in the middle of Yemen's west coast on the red sea at 14.8411N, 42.9301E. The port was built between 1958 and 1961 with financial and technical assistance from the USSR. Transport In Yemen
As a direct consequence of the country's poverty, Yemen compares unfavorably with its Middle Eastern neighbors in terms of transportation infrastructure and communications network. The roads are generally poor, although several projects are planned to upgrade the system. There is no rail network, efforts to upgrade airport facilities have languished, and telephone and Internet usage and capabilities are limited. The Port of Aden has shown a promising recovery from a 2002 attack; container throughput increased significantly in 2004 and 2005. However, the expected imposition of higher insurance premiums for shippers in 2006 may result in reduced future throughput.
