Devon Football Association
The Devon County Football Association, also simply known as the ''Devon FA'', is the governing body of football in the county of Devon. The Devon FA was founded in 1888 in Plymouth. They run a number of league and cup competitions for teams of all levels across the county, and representative teams for Senior Ladies, Under 18 Men and Under 18 Ladies. History The Devon County Football Association was formed in 1888 at a meeting held in the pavilion of Plymouth Cricket Club, South Devon Place, which is now the Astor Playing Fields at Cattedown. Newton Abbot
Newton Abbot is a market town and civil parish on the River Teign in the Teignbridge District of Devon, England. Its 2011 population of 24,029 was estimated to reach 26,655 in 2019. It grew rapidly in the Victorian era as the home of the South Devon Railway locomotive works. This later became a major steam engine shed, retained to service British Railways diesel locomotives until 1981. It now houses the Brunel industrial estate. Tavistock College
Tavistock College is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Tavistock, Devon, England. There were (as of April 2020) approximately 1800 students attending. The schools draws students from a catchment area of about radius. The college has links with Japan, Uganda, Spain, Swaziland, Peru, France and India where staff exchanges and student visits and projects take place. Success In 2013, a Japanese teacher won the so-called "teachers' Oscar" for secondary school teacher of the year. Ofsted Reviews In early 2010, the school received a "notice to improve" from Ofsted, the national school inspection agency. After a failure to improve, the following year Tavistock College was placed under special measures. The North Devon Football League is a football competition based in England. It was established in 1904. The top division of this league, which is the Premier Division, sits at level 12 of the English football league system and is a feeder to the new Devon Football League since 2019, and prior to that, the South West Peninsula League. South Devon League
The South Devon Football League, known under a sponsorship arrangement as the TCSSDFL, is a football competition based in England. Its top division, the ''Premier Division'', sits at level 12 of the English football league system. This league is a feeder to the Devon Football League. There are five divisions in the league. The SDFL's primary cup competition is the Herald Cup. It is a simple knockout competition featuring all SDFL clubs (first teams only). Following the formation of the East Devon FA in 1903, the league came into existence as the Torquay and District League for the 1903/04 season. The first winners were Ellacombe. The Plymouth and West Devon Football League, or just the PWD or P&D, is a football competition based in Devon, England. The league's top division, the Premier Division, sits at level 12 of the English football league system. This top division is a direct feeder to the Devon League South & West. Weston-super-Mare
Weston-super-Mare, also known simply as Weston, is a seaside town in North Somerset, England. It lies by the Bristol Channel south-west of Bristol between Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill. It includes the suburbs of Mead Vale, Milton, Oldmixon, West Wick, Worlebury, Uphill and Worle. Its population at the 2011 census was 76,143. Since 1983, Weston has been twinned with Hildesheim in Germany. The local area has been occupied since the Iron Age. Plymouth College is a co-educational independent school in Plymouth, Devon. History The school was established in 1877. In 1896 Plymouth College bought Mannamead School (founded in 1854), and was temporarily known as Plymouth and Mannamead College. In 1976, the first girls were admitted to the school's sixth form.
