Devlin Hope (born 27 April 1990 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with England, English National League 1 side Esher RFC, Esher. His regular position is Hooker (rugby union), hooker. Rugby career After playing first class rugby union in his native South Africa for the , making 17 appearances and scoring two tries for the team from the East Rand between 2013 and 2015, Hope moved to England, where he joined National League 1 side Coventry R.F.C., Coventry for the 2015–2016 season. After one season at that level, he signed with RFU Championship side London Scottish F.C., London Scottish for the 2016–17 RFU Championship, 2016–17 season. 2016–17 RFU Championship
The 2016–17 RFU Championship, known for sponsorship reasons as the Greene King IPA Championship, is the eighth season of the professionalised format of the RFU Championship, the second tier of the English rugby union league system run by the Rugby Football Union. It is contested by eleven English clubs and one from Jersey in the Channel Islands. This will be the fourth year of the competition's sponsorship with Greene King Brewery. The twelve teams in the RFU Championship also compete in the British and Irish Cup, along with clubs from Ireland and Wales. Some matches in the RFU Championship are broadcast on Sky Sports. National League 1
National One (last season known as National League 1 and previously known before September 2009 as National Division Two), is the third of three national leagues in the domestic rugby union competition of England. It was known as Courage League National Division Three when founded in 1987. Caldy are the current champions. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) approved a new structure for the National Leagues from the 2022–23 season. This division will be reduced to fourteen teams, playing each other on a home and away basis to make a total of 26 matches each.
