Desterro Rugby Clube
The Desterro Rugby Clube is a Brazilian rugby union (union) team from the city of Florianópolis, capital of the southern State of Santa Catarina. It has won the Brazilian Rugby Championship in three occasions: 1996, 2000 and 2005. History Desterro's history began in 1994, when a group of young men got together with the Portuguese Miguel Caçote, who had many years of experience in rugby. The first practices took place at “Joaquina” Beach, as the group didn't have a place to practice, and this beach was the only one in the island at the time with illumination. Desterro's first game was played in Curitiba, and the local team won. Still in 1994, the first rugby game ever was played in Santa Catarina State, and it was also Desterro's first victory, by 32 x 29. In 1995 Desterro was founded as a Rugby Club in legal terms, and had its first contacts with Brazilian Rugby Association. Brazilian Rugby Association
The Brazilian Rugby Confederation (Portuguese: ''Confederação Brasileira de Rugby'', CBRu) is the governing body for rugby union in Brazil, founded in 2010. It is the successor of the União de Rugby do Brasil (founded in 1963) and the Associação Brasileira de Rugby (founded in 1972). It became a member of the International Rugby Board in 1995. The confederation has six affiliate state federations: Gaúcha (Rio Grande do Sul), Catarinense (Santa Catarina), Paranaense ( Paraná), Paulista (São Paulo), Mineira (Minas Gerais), and Fluminense (Rio de Janeiro). Other state federations are unaffiliated with the CBRu. It organizes the Campeonato Brasileiro de Rugby (Série A / Super 8), Taça Tupi (Série B) and Campeonato Brasileiro de Rugby Sevens. From 2010 onwards, the Brazilian Rugby Union has been sponsored by Topper and Bradesco. Florianópolis () is the capital and second largest city of the state of Santa Catarina, in the South region of Brazil. The city encompasses Santa Catarina Island and surrounding small islands, as well as part of the mainland. João Luiz Da Ros
João Luiz Da Ros (born Florianópolis, 7 October 1982), known as Ige, is a Brazilian rugby union player. He plays as a wing and as a number eight. Ige played for Desterro Rugby Clube, before moving to France, where he played for the team of the École d`Agronomie de Dijon. He was universitarian champion, in 2007, scoring 12 tries in 7 games. He also attracted the interest of Stade Dijonnais, where he also played. He later returned to Desterro. He's also a leading name for Brazil national rugby union team and the current captain. San Isidro Club
San Isidro Club (mostly known for its acronym SIC) is an Argentine sports club based in the Boulogne Sur Mer district of Greater Buenos Aires. The club has gained recognition due to its rugby union team, being one of the most successful clubs of Argentina with 26 Torneo de la URBA championships won. SIC has also won 4 Nacional de Clubes tournaments. The national flag of Brazil ( pt, bandeira do Brasil), is a blue disc depicting a starry sky (which includes the Southern Cross) spanned by a curved band inscribed with the national motto "''Ordem e Progresso''" ("Order and Progress"), within a yellow rhombus, on a green field. It was officially adopted on 19 November 1889 — four days after the Proclamation of the Republic, to replace the flag of the Empire of Brazil. The concept was the work of Raimundo Teixeira Mendes, with the collaboration of Miguel Lemos, Manuel Pereira Reis and Décio Villares.
