Deshapathi Srinivas (born 1970) is an Indian lyricist, singer and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister, Government of Telangana. He is one of the key leaders of Telangana Separation Movement. His songs are eloquent. He is an advocate for the separation of Telangana. He takes an active role in Government of Telangana, Telugu language promotion. Early life He was born in a village in Siddipet, Medak district, Telangana to Gopalakrisha and Bala Saraswati. Siddipet is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is a municipality and serves as the headquarters of Siddipet district. Telangana Movement
The Telangana movement refers to a movement for the creation of a separate state, Telangana, from the pre-existing state of Andhra Pradesh in India. The new state corresponds to the Telugu-speaking portions of the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad, which were merged with Andhra Pradesh in 1956, leading to the Mulki Agitations. After decades of protests and agitations, the central government, under the United Progressive Alliance, decided to bifurcate the existing Andhra Pradesh state and on 2 June 2014, the Union Cabinet unilaterally cleared the bill for the creation of Telangana. Lasting for almost 5 decades, it was one of the most long lasting movements in South India. On 18 February 2014, the Lok Sabha passed the bill with a voice vote. Medak District
Medak district is a district located in the Indian state of Telangana. Medak is the district headquarters. The district shares boundaries with Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Siddipet and Medchal districts. Nandini Sidda Reddy
Nandini Sidda Reddy (or Sidhareddy, Sidha Reddy; te, నందిని సిధారెడ్డి; born 12 June 1955) is a teacher, writer, poet, songwriter and social activist from the state of Telangana, India. He is known for promoting Telugu culture. Several of his songs have been featured in Telugu language films. He was one of the leaders of the Telangana movement to make Telangana a separate state from Andhra Pradesh, which took place in 2014. He was the first Chairman of the Telangana Sahitya Akademi.
