Desert Tech
Desert Tech is a rifle manufacturer founded in 2007 as Desert Tactical Arms and later re-branded as Desert Tech in 2013. They are located in West Valley City, Utah. Its CEO, Nick Young, is the nephew of Paul Elden Kingston. As of May 2018 all of their firearms are rifles with a bullpup design. Desert Tech's motto is "Tomorrow's Weapons". They make three different styles of rifle, the SRS, HTI, and MDRx. Desert Tech's claim to fame is that all of their chassis are multi caliber and easily changeable from one caliber to another. In July 2019, federal prosecutors gave notice that they intend to seize a building Desert Tech is renting for some of their operations. However, Desert Tech is not the owner of the building, and no official attempt has ever materialized. Firearm
A firearm is any type of gun designed to be readily carried and used by an individual. The term is legally defined further in different countries (see Legal definitions). West Valley City, Utah
West Valley City is a city in Salt Lake County and a suburb of Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah. The population was 140,230 at the 2020 census, making it the second-largest city in Utah. Paul Elden Kingston is an accountant and attorney who has served as the Trustee-in-Trust of the Davis County Cooperative Society (DCCS), a Mormon fundamentalist denomination, since 1987. Bullpup
A bullpup firearm is one with its firing grip located in front of the Chamber (firearms), breech of the weapon, instead of behind it. This creates a weapon with a shorter overall length for a given barrel length, and one that is often lighter, more compact, concealable and more maneuverable than a conventionally configured firearm. Where it is desirable for troops to be issued a more compact weapon, the use of a bullpup configuration allows for barrel length to be retained, thus preserving muzzle velocity, range and ballistic effectiveness. The Desert Tech Hard Target Interdiction (HTI) is a bullpup bolt-action sniper and anti-materiel rifle designed and manufactured in West Valley City, Utah, United States by Desert Tech (formerly Desert Tactical Arms). Design The Desert Tech HTI made its first public debut at Shot Show 2012 as a modular multi caliber bullpup Sniper Rifle. The design of the HTI is largely based on the SRS-A1, scaled up to handle larger cartridges. Desert Tech SRS
The Desert Tech Stealth Recon Scout (SRS) is a bolt-action sniper rifle developed by the Utah-based firearm manufacturer Desert Tech (formerly Desert Tactical Arms). It was unveiled at the 2008 SHOT Show. It is known for its bullpup design. A shorter variant of the SRS, called the SRS Covert, shares all the same features of the SRS, but uses shorter barrels and therefore a shorter handguard.
