Descemer Bueno
Descemer Bueno (born July 5, 1971) is a Cuban singer, songwriter, and record producer. His first professional gigs were playing bass with Cuban troubadour Santiago Feliú. Early career Bueno studied music and became a music teacher before forming the jazz combo band Estado de Animo in 1990, which also included guitarist Elmer Ferrer and pianist Roberto Carcassés. His band toured Spain, Bolivia, Uruguay, Germany, and Argentina in the 1990s. Descemer also performed in the United States in 1998 with the jazz ensemble Column B. Bueno studied music at Stanford University in Palo Alto California. He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelorate degree in music production. He was selected from over 2500 applicants to interview with the music faculty. Bueno was one out of the 60 students who were granted admission to the university. George Pajon
George Pajon Jr. (born April 10, 1969) is an American guitarist, songwriter and record producer. The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) includes feature films, documentaries, and short films from the Spanish and Portuguese diaspora. The six-day festival was established in 1997. The festival was founded by Marlene Dermer (a native of Peru) and Edward James Olmos. The 13th year of the festival in 2009 included 75 films such as a screening of Spanish director's Pedro Almodóvar's ''Broken Embraces'' at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Almodóvar received the festival's Gabi lifetime Achievement Award. The Goya Awards ( es, Premios Goya) are Spain's main national annual film awards, commonly referred to as the Academy Awards of Spain. William Vivanco
William Vivanco (born October 6, 1975, in Santiago de Cuba) is a Cuban composer and musician. Vivanco learned to play guitar by visiting Casa de la Trova on Calle Heredia in Santiago de Chile. He busked in the streets and performed with a professional children's choir. Vivanco first came to Havana when he was 23 years old. He made his first solo album, ''Lo Tengo To' Pensa'o'', a mix of Brazilian music, pop, and reggae, under the Bis Music label in 2002. His most well-known song is "Cimarrón" (meaning "one who lives on mountaintops"). The song refers to African slaves who ran away from their Spanish masters.
